If you can currently run CFS3 you can also run MAW at same or better fps.
Mind you, there are not that many trees in the desert :)

We all disagree about a lot of stuff, if we didn't these places would be very boring.

That being said a troll's post is the verbal equivalent of a chum slick. Do trawlers use chum slicks or just a big open mouthed net?

The FORGOTTEN BATTLES Mission Editor is the one really major feature of the Sim that puts it a notch above CFS3. You can zoom right into a detailed map that shows individual buildings, and then place aircraft, trucks, and other buildings wherever you want them with absolute accuracy of position and orientation. Ground vehicles like trucks or trains can be stationary or move along waypoints that you determine. You can set up other flights that hit bridges seconds after you've taken out AAA. You can even time a damaged aircraft incoming to your airfield that crashes into a moving fuel truck and explodes in front of you just as you're pre-flighting. The possibilities for fun scenarios are endless, and the simplicity of use is immaculate.
It's true that the CFS2 and CFS3 mission editors are fairly easy to use, but they just don't give you the massive detail that sets IL2 apart in intricate mission building. The only limitation is your own imagination.

There is actually a workaround for that multi engined thing in FB.

True there is a workaround or two for multi-engines, all of which are ingenious, but ultimately clunkier and complicated by comparison with CFS3 or CFS2 where you simply push the correct throttle lever forward for the appropriate engine.
I choose the Sim based on the kind of Flying I want to do.

I just joined this forum because of this thread and I'd like to share what I've learned.  I have all of the CFS series and all of the IL2 series up to and including Ace Expansion Pak.  I only recently upgraded my system to run CFS 3 effectively.  My favorite CFS is stilll the original.  I do however like the IL2 series, but with reservations. Right now I'm just beginning to understand how good CFS3 really is.  My biggest gripe with the IL2 series is the flight dynamics of the aircraft.  It seems the designers went out of their way to make the aircraft difficult to fly.  In fact if the real aircraft were as cantankerous as the IL2 aircraft there would never have been an air war on the grounds that the aircraft were nearly useless to dogfight with.  I find it especially annoying that the Russian fighters seem to out perform the German fighters even though the German planes were historically superior.  I got Ace Expansion Pak because I wanted a Ta 152 H1, its my favorite WW2 fighter.  The 152 in AEPK barely performs on par with a BF 109 and does not come anywhere near the performance figurers of the real airplane.   The Jets are hardly any better.  All in all the IL series does require some skill but I find the scenery gets old pretty quickly and the muzzle flash and bullet smoke streams downright silly.

As for CFS3 the aircraft at least fly well enough even though the AI planes sometimes seem to be less than intellegent in their flight dynamics.  And Of course the scenery potential in CFS 3 is second to none right now.  I'm hoping that MS will do a CFS4 with the theme closer to the first CFS.
