Ground offensive and recon missions

Hello all,

I understand the instructions, I have enough prestige
points and national reserves etc, however

when I place the "target" on some square and click
"Launch ground offensive", then select 1-2-3-4-5 days
(depending on prestige points), then ... nothing happens !

I read somewhere that you need to fly a recon mission
before the offensive is that true ? I tried that
but I keep flying around shooting stuff, even for 30
minutes, but when I get back to base it says the
mission has failed...

Can anybody suggest what Im doing wrong, thanks

Don't know yet dtrip, but I am at that point of starting a ground offensive today. Will let you know what I discover. Probably be back here looking for an answer too!!  ;D

I think you have to loiter at each wp for 5 minutes to successfully complete a recon mission.  I'm not sure though, I've never flown one before.

Well, the only thing I can see is there is a massive front. Evidently, I am suppose to give ground and air support. Dunno!! Just a guess. I still ended up losing ground anyway.

I gain a mile and lose ten. Will keep at it though.
