The latest Air Battle game from Microsoft! Running on an entirely new platform, CFS3 is raising it's fair share of problems & opinions - Good & Bad!

"Release Ordinance' - Problem??

Postby Professor Brensec » Fri Nov 05, 2004 8:03 pm

No matter what button (Joystick or keyboard) that I set this option to, it just won't work - Nothing happens.

Has anyone had this problem (with any option). I'm just about to re-install but thought I'd check before I do.

Thanks  ;D ;)

first you need to select the ordinance you want to use- bombs or rockets...
then you can release it.

I've had this problem in the past and also with releasing drop tanks. Having said that, I think I've had every problem with this sim you can think of. Reinstall fixed it for me.

Releasing droptanks:
Hit CTRL + Shift + D

selecting and releasing ordnance:

select: back button
release: enter button

In any case, if you pull too many G's you can't release your ordnance.

Gentlemen,

I am NOT asking HOW to do it (I already know). I am asking if anyone has come across a situation where it has not worked when it should.

(Thanks Hawk, looks like I'll have to do the reinstall)  ;D ;)

For anyone interested. The re-install fixed the problem.

This would seem to be a 'standard' fix for many of the 3 million problems and glitches that this ill conceived Sim has.

Glad that did the Trick old pal, worked for me. I've just about put this sim out to grass now and I'm enjoying playing about with good old CFS2 again. Looks like the good add ons have dried up now also. I hope Pacific Fighters is able to do what CFS3 promised but failed to deliver. We shall see.

Why are they going back to the Pacific? Been there - done that.

I've always thought that a good progression for MS for their 4th Combat Sim would be Africa/Mediterranian/Italy. That way they could feature some Italian planes insteaed of the same 'ol, same 'ol.  ;D ;)

Thanks mate. I'll have a look at it, when it comes out.

What I was 'hoping' for, was an 'Italians and Africa Corp Vs British and Aust etc, along with Med (Malta, Greece, Crete etc) and then onto Sicily and Italy'.

It's all very well to pop a CFS 2 or 3 campaign together, but it's not the same as a 'New Sim' designed around those theatres and planes etc. (With new features, better visuals etc). But then we all know what happened last time MS tried that, don't we.......... >:(

Anyway............
;D :D ;)
