mission completion help

howdy, new to cfs3.
qustion about successfully completing missions:  When I finish a some missions (ship attack/intercept) it is complete when I am over my home airbase.  Other times (recon/patrol) it does not end when I get home.  I've tried landing at the airstrip, but nothing happens--any advice?

Hi garand,
to succesfully complete a recce mission you have to hang out in the target area for 5 minutes or so until the goal complete message appears.
