Bagg the unbaggable?

Postby randombeaner » Tue Aug 31, 2004 5:11 pm

How can I correct the problem of the unkillable planes. You know some of those downloads will just keep flying no matter how much you shoot them, even when there on fire.

Is it something in the airfile?maybe somethings set too high.

any suggestions

thanks

Which planes are you talking about? ??? I've never had this problem, and I have upwards of 100 free-ware add-on aircraft on my CFS3.

sim-outhouse.com's DC-3

Avhistorie.com's i believe F6F-5p

mostly just those two

I've even put unlimited guns and loaded the DC-3 with bullets it caught on fire, but it continued to fly like normal, but a few rockets did the trick ;D

here's a screenie

you have to shoot it at an angle so it looses balance and crashes or else it'll just keep flying. ???

~S~

I've only ever flown and flown against 1% aircraft in CFS2. It is important to remember that they were designed to be flown at 90% realism (Strongest guns) - I'm assuming that the CFS3 aircraft are too.

While not a 1% aircraft developer, I would imagine that the .dp file (or whatever the CFS3 equivalent might be) has been developed with this in mind.

Am I barking up the right tree?

Uhh, don't fly them with stronger guns, they are more effective than stock weapons anyway , and so is the damage modelling what should level the effect out.
Just don't mix 1% and stock.

Remember that if you you separate his aircraft from one of his wings he ain't gonna fly much longer. ;D

I usually fly 100% realism so that shouldn't be a problem, but shooting the wing does work and even better then that is shooting a buzz bomb at it ;D

It's in the xdp file inside each object's folder. You can open and edit the file in a text editor or a special xml editor.
Look for sections like "damagebox_fuselage" and the like. There is an entry "Points" at the end of each line, this one defines how many hitpoints the part in question can take until it's destroyed.
You shure know that you'll get multyplayer missmatches if your tweak the xdp.
Oh, and delete the file with extension bdp or your changes won't work.
This is the xdp in binary format and is getting recreated each time your delete it.
