Help anyone

The latest Air Battle game from Microsoft! Running on an entirely new platform, CFS3 is raising it's fair share of problems & opinions - Good & Bad!

Help anyone

Postby dice » Mon May 31, 2004 4:51 pm

I am new at this game and want to know some info on how to play it. For starters, when playing both in single and multiplayer, I have a tendancy to run out of fuel and ammunition. Is there a way to reload and refuel? I have tried landing at the base to fill up but nothing. Is there a mod for this or am I stuck having to crash a perfectly good airplane into the ground whenever this happens?
Second, I was having those famous graphics problems everybody has been having. I downloaded the 3.1.1 patch and the nocd patch, along with tweaking my game and NVIDEA 64 meg graphics card, and there is not much difference. My game still hangs and sometimes crashes. Even when I disable everything running in the background. Is there a later, or better fix for this? Thanks.

Hi there. Can't really help with your first question other than to suggest you make sure you have external fuel tanks for all you missions (use them first and get rid as soon as you go into combat) and only shoot when you are sure you will hit something. Don't fire long bursts from long range or you will just run out of ammo.
To be honest your 64 meg card is right on the limit for CFS3. I could not even run the game with mine and had to upgrade to a 128 meg card. CFS3 loves loads of memory and a fast comuter. You may have to think about a video card upgrade at some point.

I have a 64meg card and it works fine. Just remember, don't push the graphics. I personally have the planes on 5, clouds on 1 and everything else on 2 or 3. It works quite well so long as there isn't too much around. RAM is the real key to CFS3, the more the better. ;)

P.s. I am assuming your vid card is a ti and not an mx. If its an mx then getting a ti will make world of difference.
