Yes, it hapens to me as well.
Press F3 and hide the virtual cockpit, then pressing the hat switch back will make you look back.

Im using a wingman force 3D force feed back joystick.
can u get a normal view of cockpit with all instruments like you can in cfs1&2

so am I , force feeback 3d.. please tell me this is a game feature .. ::)
oh, and could someone answer robbo's question about the cockpit view? I do miss the normal CFS cockpit view.

it's very frustrating i thought the game was supposed to have better views
