DRIVER CLEAN

Postby RAAF_Tony » Thu Apr 17, 2003 4:35 pm

I splashed out and am about to replace my old GEForce2 with a T4200 128MB.  I need to clean out my old drivers as I want to install the latest 43.45 drivers from NVidia.  Hasn't been successful using the add/remove software in Windows XP control panel as the installation wizard for the new drivers keeps telling me there are components of the old drivers left.  Any of you folks know how I clean it out successfully.
My other question is, at some stage after the clean the machine asks you to reboot..if I do that driverless, am I going to be thrown into limbo??????
I am also getting a RUNDLL error on booting saying 'Error loading NvQTwk'.....any suggestions?

Hi Tony, the windows XP zapper thing isn't that great unfortunately, don't bother with trying to delete the old drivers. Its a little while since I had to do this, but when you install the card XP should automatically detect new hardware without any trouble. You should have a drivers/software CD with the new card. Run it. Then download and run the new drivers. Reboot. And Bob is your mothers brother.

Ello Tony... Ozzy , nice Spitfire M8...

well I would also reccommend a simple little tool called REG Cleaner.... try looking for it, under PCWorld.com/Downloads/System Resources-Tune-up ... but Ozzy has it right, it should , but if it doesnt... this little tool will make it easy to work around.
Cheers !
