Question TR...

Postby Slats » Tue Nov 23, 2010 10:14 pm

Hi TR, Howthehellubeen?
Today I was trying to locate and D/L your Huey Helos.
Just can't seem to find them at simv.  :(
Would these air whompers still be around. It looks like the website has gone through an update, so maybe this is the problem?

Or is it me?  ;)

Thanks, Slats

BTW, there are also a number (9 to be exact) of WWII/Korean War vintage AI choppers available on the Fox Four/Extras page:

A bit of trivia:   The CFS2 AI chopper was invented by Doug Attrell (AKA Hagar, AKA Grumpy1) in the form of the S-51 used in the Fox Four Korean campaigns.

Got'em Tango. I appreciate those links.
My search must have been a typo. Something like Tanga Romea... ;D

These guys are wicked for their AI role. Its nice when one can get a little help in a mission now and then.

Got to say though...going from a fixed wing aircraft to a rotor takes some getting used to. I've been using the Alpha Huey for the player and she's a handful.

But once ya start to figure out how the inputs work, copters are a nice change. A little bit more hang time on the target comes in handy.

It seems that the hardest thing to get is a "hover". Have you ever tried this?...Or is it not really up CFS2"s alley.

I'm just curious.

Regardless, Thanks for getting me hooked up.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Happy to help anytime.   Those AI choppers really are a treat in the wingman role.   I love to watch them roughup a target with guns and rockets.   [smiley=cheesy.gif]

A real-life chopper pilot told me that a stationary hover is the most difficult thing to do in a helicopter.   The problem seems to be the same in CFS2...the main obstacle being a tendency to 'over-control'.   [smiley=engel017.gif]
