Troubles after reloading cfs2

Postby jmsmth » Fri Nov 07, 2008 1:52 pm

I just reinstalled cfs2 after approx 2 years.  It installed fine but when I try to run it I have multiple problems.  First, I have to hold a throttle button in(1 thru 0) to get the engine to develop power.  Even then the power surges.  Second, I can be holding steady stick pressure and the aircraft will suddenly pitch down.  Eventually it will go full elevator down and into a left bank until ground contact.  Full up elevator and full right aileron will not correct the problem.  I am using a CH Fighterstick USB joystick and CH ProPedals.  I have calibrated them several times and uninstalled and reinstalled the program.  I am running an old AMD 2100 cpu at 1.77GH with an ASUS nvidea3 TI200 video card.  I have 1GB of ram and plenty of space on my hard drive.  I am currently running Windows XP with SP3.  I know my system is old but it ought to run cfs2.  I have lost the amd patch that it says it needs and can't find it on the amd site.  Could this be the problem and does anyone have it or know how to get it?  Thanks.

I'm not presently sure what to tell you here; just thought to bring it back to the top perchance someone has proper advice.

At first glance it looks like all of your problems involve the control stick. I would try a different stick first, or maybe try flying with the mouse just to see if that indeed is the problem.

Thanks.  I'll give that a try.  However, the joystick works fine for cfs3 and fs9.
