British Pilot in Battle of Britain campaign

Postby jeremyc » Sun Aug 27, 2006 8:08 pm

I've just downloaded (and almost installed ) Lenny Flank's Battle of Britain Campaign.

I have a few issue's, probably to do with the way I've installed it - so youl'll probably be seeing a few emails from me in the coming days  :)

Question  no.1 - I seem to be missing a British Pilot - it doesn' seem to have been installed with the Campaign. Does anyone know where I can get hold of one?
Doesn't seem to be available in the downloads section of this site.

cheers

I've answered my own question - there is a zip file in the Hurricane folder (Called BRI_PILOT.ZIP) that needs to be unzipped

Not to say that there won;t be any more - especially since there is supposed to be a BF109 somewhere  ;D

Jeremyc, I"m sure there is a a Bf109 in the campaign. Just take your time and look for it. If do not find it. There are many beautiful Bf109 available to replace it. I suggest you use a frame rate friendly for Ai and a real good one when you need to fly with one in the campaign.

If you do not know how to do this, just ask!

Its real easy

I never get tire of the BoB. Its one the most facinating period of the war. BoB and the early part of the Pacific war are the most exciting part of the war for me. We did not now at the period of the war who was going to win until the Battle of Midway. After that it was a sluggfest but everyone knew who was going to win the war after the Battle of Midway.

The Eastern Front is also very interesting as well. Well the whole war was a horrible but facinating period in World history.

Good luck and good Hunting.

Save Britain and sink those Jap carriers as well. LoL

Remember its good once in a while to be a Kid.

Its healthy

Thanks James - I found the Bf109 last night (and installed it), flies beautifully, tho I don't really like the restricted forward view!,

Next question, third part weapons packs - where are they supposed to go? I thought the weapons_dp folder, but I still get error messages "can't find .......... in library" or words to that effect.

thanks

Hi Jeremy. Wep packs usually consist of BGL files, DP files & sometimes BMP textures.
BGL files go in CFS2\SCENEDB\weapons\scenery
BMP textures in CFS2\SCENEDB\weapons\texture
& DP files in CFS2\OBJECTS_DP

Jeremy that was excellent advice by Hagar. I will give you three more tips.

1. Once inside the CFS2\SCENEDB\weapons\scenery folder. Rememmer to delete the filelist file.Do not worry. it will  replicate it self once you restart CFS2.

2.Now you need to go to the Aicraft folder the weapon was intended for. Look for the CPD file of that AC and delete it. Again do not worry it will replicate itself as well.

3.Last word of advce is for you to install one weapon pakage at a time. Remember to follow the weopon developers instructions and our advice and you should not have any problem. If you do encounter any problem you can always come back and we will try to help again.

Thankyou both for your suggestions - I will give it a go in the next day or so. Hopefully all the error messages I've been getting will disappear!

cheers
