cfs convertion

Postby ajweber » Wed Apr 12, 2006 4:02 am

Does anyone have any info on how to convert CFS2 AI aircraft/ships to use in FS9? I've seen articles on how to convert FS9 to CFS2 but not the other way around. I thought maybe it would work in reverse but it only explained how to convert the FS9 mdl and stuff, and not what to do if you had a CFS2 model.Hope to hear from someone soon.

Most CFS2 aircraft should work in FS9 with no conversion. You might need to alias the panel & sound. The ships might need a little more work but they're basically the same as aircraft.

I got the ships to show up. I used an aircraft.cfg  and .air file from another AI ship and that got them to show up, but they disappear when I turn a certain way and they disappear when I goto any of the cockpit views(I can't see them from inside the plane). Does anyone have a fix for that?

I've never tried converting a CFS2 ship to work in FS9. Please remember that they were never intended to be player "flyable ". They're obviously much bigger than aircraft & will have no VC or interior views.

Hi Ajw. Have you tried FS-Shipyards? To my belief, they have done a few CFS2 ships "flyable" for FS9. But don't quote me on that. ;)

Hey you guys,

Thanks for all your help! I got the ships to show up and work but there are still a few bugs in how they display though. I'll figure it out eventually, but if anybody has any info on why they blink on and off and why I can't see them through the cockpit of the plane I'm in, then please contact me!!!By the way, I'm using them in AI and not piloting them myself. I just want to place them in a few different places for scenery I'm working on.\, but thanks for   help!!!
