cfs2 disk backup

Postby jimski » Wed Sep 21, 2005 7:00 pm

Tried to backup my cfs2 disks the other day. Disk1 copied right off. Disk2, the one you need in your computer to run the game, had many sections that would not copy on the cd burner. Is that the fault of my disk or is copying it locked out some how? The disk functions perfectly running the game.

Or...

Is it possible to copy both disks totally to the hard drive and run the program without disk2 in the machine?

(I realized how much work and stuff i have done with csf2 and its running all depends on the condition of disk2.)

Hi Jimski,
I would imange that disk #2 is copy protected. There is a utility called No cd. I think it is here in the utilities section first few pages if memory serves correct.

Hope this helps

Jimski,

you can use CFS2 without the CD, if you download the "CFS2 Improved Aircraft Textures" on this page, it has a new cfs2.exe in it, just paste it inside your main CFS2 folder and fly away.

Also, at electronic stores they sell these plastic covers that attach to the bottom of your CD to protect it, they arn't cheap though.

You need to run a software utility like iso-buster to outflank the copy protect if you wish to make a copy of disc 2.

Most of us just use the NOCD option to save wear & tear on the original disc.

Downloaded it. (Well hidden.) It works! Works in Mission Builder too. My disks will go into the vault.

Interesting that FS2002 was set up to run without a disk.

Thanks for the help.
