Is there a way to change the game so you can minimize the game window or open another window without the game pausing?  It would be nice to be able to do something else during long flights.

Only stumbled across this myself the other day...

go to your install directory

modify your cfs.cfg file.

Search for
PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=1

change this to
PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0

and that should do the trick

(I just flew into the ocean while typing this up  ;) )
