Yikes!!!

I bought my copy of CFS2 ages ago and have been hooked ever since. A few weeks ago, however, I installed Windows 2000Pro on my computer and since then THE GAME WONT RUN ANYMORE!!!! Has anybody out there got any idea why this could be and hoe to fix this problem? I tried a reinstallation, of course, but that did not work either... Getting desperate and will be forever grateful for any help. Cheers

Are you saying that your existing install of CFS2 will not run or that you can't install it? I've only ever used Win98/Me & I'm not sure what's involved with installing a different OS. I think this would depend if it's an update or a full reformat & clean install of the OS.

To the best of my knowledge CFS2 will run fine on both Win2000 & WinXP. Did you try reinstalling it after installing Win2000?

Should work... It supports Window 2000, well at least that's what it says on the box

Can you give us more details as to what is happening. At what point does it give an error and what, if any, is the message.
Can you give us some details about the spec of your machine. ie. Processor, memory, etc.

I run it CFS2 on Wip XP and I know of users on Win 2000 so it should work.
It could be a case of updating video card drivers or DirectX.
I assume that once you installed Win 2000 you got all the service packs abd updates from the M$ site?

First of all, thanks for your replies!
Well, I installed the game again after installing windows 2000. Installation was no problem, the game just will not staart anymore. I tried to install it on a friends computer to check if it would work there (under Windows XP) and it would not start either (again, after successfully installing the game). I used to play with no problems at all when I still had Windows 98. Strange things happen, I guess. Unfortunately I dont remember the error message that always pops up when I try to start the game (not at home right now), but I will check.

it's a stupid thing to ask, but i'm going to ask anyway!Are you putting the 2nd disk in to start the game ? are you used to running with the NO CD exe ? easily done, hope it's that simple  ::)
