weps but no fire

i have a p-38 with a lot of wepons  and options but when i am flying i can not fire the wepons  i am new to the cfs world but been in fs for a while any help is appreciated thank you

Hi Salcidomd & welcome to SimV. If it's a 3rd party design (not a repainted default) try patching the MDL file of that P-38 with the MDL Converter tool here. http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs2/articles_SDK_mdlconverter.asp

well Hagar The mdl converter did not work. The weapons will not even select. The aircraft did work before i downloaded a new dp. file which had all the payloads already on it and i also backed up the original and if i replace it with the original it works again the file i down loaded is from simvation and has dp. files for all the default planes.

It's not easy to suggest anything without more details. Make sure the replacement DP file has the exact same file name as the original or it won't be recognised. You should also delete the CDP file after any modification/replacement of the DP. A new one will be written automatically when you use the aircraft. I'm not sure this will help.

well hagar deleting the cdp file did fix the non selection but i think i ned to add guns in the dp file but i can select the wepon but it just vanishes so i think i will add guns  i hope this will fix the rest

Which update is this? Give me details so I can check it out for you. If I had this much trouble with any file I would have dumped it days ago. It's not worth bothering with. IMHO

Most aircraft have guns of some sort. Try the cannon button.

well the problem was that i did not have parameters for the bombs missles or  torps  only the cannons and guns so i used DPed to add these and it works like a charm also deleting the cdp file helped so thanks for the help
