A better, different question

Postby Iceman2003 » Thu Jun 12, 2003 11:05 pm

O.K. I did get a joystick, before knowing it was suggested to me and this game is awesome.

One more question, I have this game loaded onto two computers, my sisters brand spanking new high-speed-low-drag computer up stairs that she's taking to college this fall, and the old slower computer downstairs. Now I use the old computer most of the time but it looks like I'm watching a slideshow. Is there anyway I can speed up the frame rate, I've tried different configurations and nothing seems to work.

sorry about the previous double post

We need to know just what

"OLDER SLOWER" is, it may not have the

goods to do what you want,

Almost any system will run CFS2 in
default settings,

tell us what you got!!!!!!!

Some basic hints to avert a slideshow:

Download the latest drivers
Turn off sound while in game (Q key)
Try tweaking your comp. (several tweakin documents out there)
Turn off any backround applications running, especially internet and antivirus (turn them off by taking them out of the taskbar where the clock is)
Lower your in-game settings a bit -- maybe the scenery.

And thats all i can think of for now since im not an expert.

Alright I answered most of my questions already, I downloaded cacheman and did all the tweaking I could understand and the game looks incredible.

Here are the specs so you can goff at this dinasour:

S3 Inc. ViRGE/DX/GX PCI
Win 98
AuthenticAMD AMD-K6tm w/ multimedia extensions
160MB RAM

If that helps, if you need any more info tell me how to find it out.

Also, I got the impression that a vid card is very important. Now how can I update it, what should I upate it with, and where can I find it.

the Nvidia cards (Geforce series) can be downloaded at nvidia.com. You should be able to find out the card manufacturer, then search the name out and they should have driver updates.
