Had a think about it and I think you're talking about Mantis's old P51 HUD. and Nope, it's not a cheat (that I'm aware of). I only think of cheats as something which may give an unfair advantage over a player who doesn't have it.

I totally agree with you on that point. It was not just a HUD for the p51 though. I'm not sure what you mean by HUD either. The HUD view is what you get when you are in normal cockpit mode and then press the W. This should be the same for all planes.

Yep, HUD = Heads Up Display.
The story as I understand it is that Mantis changed it for his P51 and gave it to the other 78th pilots and it was re-distributed from there. It may be the same for other aircraft as well. I've only seen it in a screenshot. It has more info than a regular HUD but it wouldn't help me as I wouldn't understand what it was telling me anyway, lololol.
