Directx and geforce video cards

Im playing this 1 game that requires 128ram, processor speed or 500 mhz and directx 8.1 and its compatable with amd and geforce video which i got.

but i play it goes through the cut screen fine and the graphics looks great but b4 the menu screen the whole thing crashs sayin that it needs direct 8.1 installed and then comes up with a run time error  and abnormal termination below that.

i have
amd athlon 64 3400
k8 asus motherboard
fx geforce video card
1gb of ram
directx 9.0b


i play AVP 2 and that needs higher specs then the other games

can any tell me what the hell i should do

First of all: what game are u playing?
Is it MS combat flight simulator?
and avp2 runs fine on my PC to and I have a 450mhz 320 mb ram and 64 mb geforce 2 so I don't think the recuirement on the box are right...
