Warping leads to engine failure

Postby dhasdell » Sat Jan 17, 2004 5:48 am

In several missions using standard CFS RAF and USAAF campaigns, as soon as I warp to next action the engine shuts down and refuses to restart. Is it another XP thing? Sorry if it

It's possible you ran out of fuel. To confirm this change the Realism settings to Unlimited Fuel & try the same missions.

I will assume that you warp and arrive at say, 5-10000ft altitude. Your problem is probably that your mixture needs changing. I have posted this before, so you may now it anyway. Shift + 2 for the throttle quadrant, and then drag the red Mixture lever backwards SLOWLY. Your engine should restart, but will flag / die on the way down. Hope I have helped, Dan Garner   ;D

;D Try going to "settings" and check the "automix" box. That will automatically adjust air/fuel mix at any altitude any time. 8)

Realism is all very well. It would depend if the aircraft has a constant-speed prop. Most WWII aircraft did. I could be wrong but believe they might have some kind of auto-mixture control too. This was to make it easier for the pilot to fly in combat which is surely the whole point. ;)
