Is there a freeware app for FSX that will show airport maps while in the cockpit to make it possible to taxi in or out without progressive taxi.
As far as I know, progressive taxi only works when ATC is active, but if you don't want to fly with ATC, its difficult to know where to taxi in or out at non-familiar airports.
Its possible, I may be doing something wrong. If so, please let me know.
Thanx.
FSMAP is one such program that will show the template of every runway you have in FSX or in FSX9
After you install FSMAP you select which version of FS you want to us and it will build a data base from your scenery files you have
You can also go to places where you can download custom IFR and VFR maps AVSIM has alot of these maps
One thing i will caution you is if you taxi to fast you will loose the airport template and swithch to the IFR or VFR map you have of the area you are in.
While flying it will show all aircraft in your vicinity and will alert you if one gets to close you can also control the range of the map by zooming in & out
You will also have to put the Gauge in every aircraft you want it in but the process is simple and easy
I have the gauge installed in just about my entire fleet of aircraft
