HI, the aircraft I use a lot has no GPS installed, but after studying on internet, I managed to add GPS and icon (that pops up the GPS window), but it´s only to 2D panel where it works fine, but there is no icon in my VC panel :?: , I know it should be possible, but can´t find what I do wrong here, so any help is much than velcome. :)

what aircraft is it? Sometimes you can swap out a lesser gauge in the vc for the gps icon. post your complete panel config and I might be able to help you.

Hi D28-HB,
That is the SAAB J-35 Draken from Bookmark, if I understand you correct, you have first to remove a gauge before add another ?

gauge 20 in your vc 1 config. shows the gps icon installed. Did you do that or is it original. If you did this, cancel I,t and just replace gauge 37or 38 with the icon. Do not change and other information just the name of the gauge.

Hi D28-HB
Yes it´s me that have inserted that gauge, I have removed it and tried what you have recommended, but it didn´t work, furthermore I am not happy to not having the warning lights on the panel.
So instead I want to hear, how do I (or is it possible at all) to make a shortcut from the GPS in "view" "instrument panel" to my keyboard ?? :?: , so I just have to press a key on my keyboard, if/when I want to see the GPS window.

Hi Snoop,
I came across your post and decided to look into it. I downloaded the aircraft and added a GPS select icon on top of an existing gauge.
At the end of the [Vcockpit02] sectionI added:
gauge11=SimIcons!GPS Icon, 844,496,70,65
This should place the select icon in the VC on a panel that has "Radar" on it.
I haven't tried it so you may want to tinker with the size and position values.

Hi D28,
I'm not suggesting he swap anything. I'm recommending placing the GPS select icon on a blank area of an existing gauge.

I've never done it that way, interesting. Lets see if he has any luck. I find you have to fiddle with things a little to get what you want. Every vc seems different and the high end ones don't co-operate well. Thanks for info.

Hi Jim, Thanks for your help works fine  , have minimized the size a bit, when it´s not possible to get the icon on my VC front panel, without to loose another gauge, this is okay to use instead.
Just for curiosity(and maybe I´ll try to adjust it a little more), how did You found out to place the gauge right on this place ?? :?:
Kind regards from :D

Hey snoop,
I used FS Panel Studio. I had the plane installed to a dummy location so I wasn't able to check the results. I would have preferred something like a toggle switch but I couldn't readily locate one that did the job.
