Depends upon the add-ons . Mine takes a while though I never timed it, I go put the coffee pot on, when I come back it i ready. I find that Pilots Global Mesh was a big factor, then adding in FTX Global and Vector ate a lot of time up. I installed the freeby SceneryConfigEditor v1.1.9 which works great at keeping scenery under control. You can easily just have the areas you want to fly within active.

Yep it depends on whats installed, mine will take the best part of 5mins to load ORBX Orcas Island with PNW, on the other hand UK2000 Exeter with Gen X photo scenery will load in about 45secs. As Canuck1955 use SceneryConfigEditor and enable or disable areas your not using.

I switch my computer on.
...wait forever....
Click on FSX...
Get my Motorcycle out.
Go shopping to Sainsbury's Superstore.
When I get back home with all my shopping, FSX is ready to run and I select where I want to be.
..then another wait while I make a nice cup of Coffee.

It just requires lots of patience...a shopping list...and a coffee Pot.... :D ...!

With me. I start FSX and then I call a taxi to take
me to the Airport. After all the rigmarole I fly to
NZ and stay overnight. I then fly home to the Act
and the flight sim is ready to start picking Airports
Time of day etc. :o :o :snooty:

By then I am too bloody tired to fly and shut it down
and go to bed.

You guys must have a HUGE amount of add ons.! I have about 60 aircraft and other mods and mine loads in around 12 seconds, and takes about the same time to load the aircraft when I change models!

I think your computers need a good kick up the a**e. Mine would be out the window if it took that long!

One other factor that effects load time is the setting you have for autogen scenery. I have some megascenery and a few other addons but mine loads pretty quick. Of course you CPU speed and the amount of ram you have and the speed of the ram play a part as well. And do not for get about things running in the background. Even using Norton which is a resource hog and a half mine still loads pretty quick. 8-)
