FTX Central has an option to deactivate the default AI traffic.

Image

It does this by renaming the default trafficAircraft.bgl file to trafficAircraft.bgl.DISABLED-FOR-FTX-AI

This file is located in your FSX scenery\World\scenery folder. To reactivate it without using FTX Central simply rename it to trafficAircraft.bgl

Thanks Haggar ORBX told me the same thing but what they failed to tell me was you have to run FTX Central to see it'
I saw that and renamed it but no luck when i clicked on the folder it was empty.
the other problem I had was when i deleted the FTX scenery I got an error message and FSX would not run.
This all could have been avoided if they had used proper documentation instead of leaving you in the dark.

Oh well I have all ready uninstalled FSX and will reset it and reinstall this afternoon when I get home from work.
The thing that surprised me was when i downloaded it it installed as scenery which is something new to me and never heard of creating flight plans as a scenery. But I think the Scenery was the airports that the AI was supposed to use.
It would have been nice if they told you about things like that rather than spring it on you out of the dark.
I have done this so many times now I can almost do it in my sleep. Between a hard drive failing an update deactivating FSX and other things I have probably uninstalled and reinstalled FSX at least 6 times now
8-)

You don't have to use FTX Central to rename the file as I suggested. If your scenery\World\scenery folder was empty you must have deleted the contents yourself.
There should be other default files in there which I suspect is the reason for the error message.

The scenery\World\scenery folder is the usual location for 3rd party AI traffic bgl files.

Not sure what you did wrong. I'm no advocate of payware or auto-installers but I've never had a problem with ORBX addons. Everything can be downloaded, installed & uninstalled from within the FTX Central software.

This is an update on the issue
Like I stated I tried renaming the file but than discovered it was empty. Than when I deleted the FTX scenery it messed up FSX so bad it would not uninstall properly it left some kind of fragment there that would not allow me to reinstall FSX. I put in disk 1 of FSX and the only options I had was to remove or repair which is what i expected to see but when I clicked on remove I got a error message. After looking uo the error message I discover that Microsoft had a repair tool just for this kind of problem. I ran it and found out the registry keys were corrupt it fixed the problem and uninstalled FSX and was finally able to reinstall FSX THANK GOD
Silly me just jumped the gun and did not think things through.
I have learned a valuable lesson to quote an old saying Put Mind in Gear before putting hands in motion.
As for the problem who knows I could have got a bad download I have had it happen once before when I downloaded a package from Just Flight One of the models the A300-320 would spin like a top when selected and it was buried up to the bottom of the wings. I discovered that there were no contact points at all in the aircraft cfg file Just flight was johnny on the spot for a fix to the problem and was surprised that I had the issue as it had not happened before
but chalked it up to a bad download So who knows
But for now I still am staying away from ORBX can you blame me I am just a little gun shy to say the least 8-)
