From Bowerman, KHQM thru the mountains to Port Angles, KCLM

Postby OldAirmail » Sun Apr 02, 2017 4:41 pm

I started out in Bowerman Airport, KHQM (Orbx free scenery), and flue THROUGH the Olympic national forest west of Seattle, and up to Port Angles, KCLM.

This is one of those flights that is MUCH better to fly than it is to look at in the pictures. Just keep your altitude between 1,000 and 3,000 as needed. Enjoy the flight through the mountains and valleys. :D

I always thought that Puget Sound and Seattle area was a neat area to fly.

Welcome to Simviation, Herc-Canute.

If you look at my "location", on the left, under my name, you'll see Concrete, Washington. But that's my wana-be home.

The Cascade mountains, Seattle, the Olympic National Forest, Orcas Island, and the whole Puget Sound area is where I would like to live.

Anyway, I'll be visiting it for the first time this spring.

Do you have the Orbx Pacific North West scenery? If not, it's a good place to start. :D

The scenery would be nice, but I have a stock Dell computer with a basic video card, so i will stay with the default scenery.

I flew around the area in Flight Simulator 2004 and Flight Simulator X.

I prefer the relatively flat areas of Kansas and the Great Plains to fly around.

In that case, MegaSceneryEarth might be of interest to you. (their server seems to be rather slow tonight)

I have the MegaSceneryEarth - Pennsylvania scenery. Above 2,000 feet it looks pretty good for photoscenery and puts a fairly low demand on video cards.

Then too, there's BlueSkyScenery. This is more photoscenery, but it's FREE.

But so long as you enjoy your flights, you're doing it right. :D

I checked out the website BlueSkyScenery. The don't have anything for Kansas. So i will stick with the default scenery.

They just have scenery of the western states. nothing for the boring flat mid west.
