Excellent post Doug, some really incredible pictures there which also bring home the fact we owe a great debt of gratitude to the brave men and women who fought and gave their lives so that we maybe be free. In case anyone's interested the picture of the Pilot bending in front the roundel on his Hurricane is that of Tom Neil https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Neil he's written some very good books about his time in the RAF https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tom-Neil/e/B00 ... 382&sr=1-1 highly recommended.

I found the read about the RAF Lady (forgot the unit and her name... ) when she was sitting on the back of the aircraft and ended up in the air...but what I found most interesting is she was Charged for an Unlawful Flight and Loss of her Head Dress...Only in Canada you say...not really...
