After devouring my usual, enormous, mid-day, Dinner-Time feast last Saturday, I thought to myself, (as I do), I have two choices now....

1: Lie down and go to sleep on the settee for an hour (or more).
2: Go for a nice ride in the countryside on my trusty steed.

So, not wishing to lose 2 hours of my life, I opted for; "2"....>>>>

A blustery trip around the local countryside....

A fantastic little ride, and arrived back home just in time for a Tea-Time feast.... ...!

Enjoy the trip, and get blown away with excitement!

Latest trip, last Sunday, Hereford to Abergavenny down the A465, Abergavenny to Monmouth on the A40 Dual Carriageway, Monmouth to Coleford through the woods, Coleford to Cinderford, and Cinderford back to Hereford on the A49 again.

All-round trip 100+ miles...Fantastic!

A short section from Coleford to Cinderford through the Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, with lots of trees!...>>>

Many thanks, Tug!

I'm glad you liked them!
Its quite fun recording and editing them, and it seems that quite a few folks are watching them on You-Tube as well!

(I have prevented any comments, replies, etc, on You-Tube...for obvious reasons!).... ;) ... ;) ...!

I'm still eagerly waiting for news, photos, etc, of your trips on your brand-new Harley Fat Boy, Tug!

Take care...

I look at the BBC Weather Forecast each day, and I look at the sky each day, and every day I think to myself; "is it really a good day to go Motorcycling?"...

...Probably not... ...

Maybe in New Mexico and Arizona.... ....

...but not in Herefordshire.... :( ....!

Jeeees!...We are still having awful weather!
Cool, wet, and windy!

It can get depressing!.... ...!

The best I can do is let you know that I have put on around 4500k on the bike so far. As I don't have a camera that works on my phone so there are no pics. If I can ever figure out how to work my son's video camera I will try to do a video of the cottage roads that I usually drive. The only pics that I have are of the ones that I took at home with my big camera which is too large to take on runs.

4500k.... :D ....

Would that be 4,500 French Kilometres....
..or 4,500 Queen Victoria Miles?

Do Canadians indicate their distances in Kilometres?.... ....
Rather than the more familiar Americans with their; Miles, Feet, Inches, Pounds, Fahrenheit, .....and Imperial Wrenches/Spanners for Harley-Davidsons.... ;) ...!

I still get my head around the Metric System....and I cant speak French... ...!

Paul.....5 Feet 7 Inches, 10 Stone 12 Lbs (getting shorter and lighter by the day!).... ...!

Sad but true  our brilliant government decided about thirty years ago to change everything over here to metric so now I have to convert everything if I actually want to know what I am doing  Just another way to waste money changing everything over to metric when all was well before the change. The only thing that still uses miles, pounds feet and inches here as far as I know are the railways as they told the government that if they wanted them to change they would have to pay for it. Guess what......the government wouldn't pay and we at the railway stayed normal  Worked for me as I hate the metric system. 4500 k is about 2700 real miles. Not out on the bike today as I was working on my broken down boat  finally got it running though, my wife thinks that I got a bit of heat stroke as I can not walk in a straight line right now  It was 38c out today which I think is about 98 or 100 Fahrenheit. Forgot to wear my hat and my bald head got burnt

Ta Tug, for the reply....
Enjoy your nice hot weather, 'cos its bloody miserable over here!
Keep clocking up the Miles (not Kilometres!).... ;) .... ....!

Anyhow...

My latest experiment:
Trying to record audio on my open-face helmet mounted video camera, has been a total disaster, due to excessive wind noise in my helmet mounted microphone fitted with its usual foam wind shield!
The reason why I have been inserting text-narration in the videos instead!

Just purchased these little "furry/hairy things" that I fit over the microphone, the same as the professional Audio Recordists use on their outside Mics!....>>>>

Image

They do the job just fine...£10 for five!

...I just need to learn how to talk the hind leg off a Donkey in my audio narration whilst on the move.....>>>

....like my American Biker Chums are used to...endlessly, non-stop.....>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIif1xU ... 206.373601

Someone here suggested its called; "Verbal Diarrhoea".... :? .... ....!

Me?...I can never think of something/anything to say into the Mic, (apart from sniffing and sneezing), most of the time!.... ....
...so I may be stuck with Text Narration...most of the time.... ...!

The good news....

..the Furry/Hairy Things don't need feeding and watering... ...!

Paul.... ... ...!

...more stuff coming!

hahaha, those furry little sporrans must be to cover your crotch and keep your wee baubies in.Never seen those before. The secret to a good narrative is to imagine you have a passenger that needs to know what's happening and speak to him/her like a visitor. Remember learning to fly? Your QFI wanted you to tell him exactly what you were doing, such as control surface inputs for whatever reason. Then if you missed something, he'd ask, such as "what's your airspeed? or "what altitude should you be? You could throw all these things into your narrative. I can imagine you now saying "we're changing down to 2nd now as this underpowered Honda won't go up this hill in 3rd." or "Notice the speedo reading, it's at 12 o'clock, which means we're doing 50 at last." Why not throw in a comment like "over there is the Dog and Partridge, which used to be popular when there wasn't much traffic around." See, try one . . . :banana-parachute: (ducking)

Never fear...

I'm already practising with the Shopping Trolley at Sainsbury's each day, Matt... ;) ...!

Most of the Trolleys only run on three wheels as it is, so its good practice for a Harley Custom 3-wheeler.

Hopefully, the "Fateful Day" is a long way off yet!.... :D ....!

The last time I drove a Motor Car, (my Allegro 1.5 HL car), was 26 years ago, (1990), so I wouldn't be comfortable/safe driving one now!... :o ....!
