Don't count on me for confirmation. Back in mid 2002, when I was night manager at a motel five miles from my home over a back road and still had my Camaro, I saw a male and a female cougar walking towards me off the side of the road -- I did not get out to smell them. However, when I lost my transportation and had to walk over that hill, I got the odor of rotting meat; when I read up on cougars, the report is that when they kill large prey they drag the carcass up a tree to save for future meals.

PS: Greetings -- it's been quite some while since I've been able to visit (for lack of internet -- not by cause of felines).
