It looks like San Francisco powers to be are really
going to do it.

Banning the Blue Angels Fly overs!!!. :snooty: :snooty:

Why don't they do something constructive, like cracking down
on crime etc?

Instead of thanking these guys for serving they are telling
these pilots extraordinaire, leave our skies alone.

And yet he is happy with Fleet Week and the parade of Navy ships that go by...........

Ironically he appears to have no problem with the Brietling team displaying with the L-39.............

San Francisco County Supervisor also stated this :

But San Francisco County Supervisor "John Avalos" describes Blue Angel planes as “killing machines.”

He told the San Francisco Chronicle they are "NO Longer Welcome" because, “It’s about the "TERROR" that they cause in people when they strafe [sic] the neighborhoods.” Adding, “That’s something I hear about all the time when the Blue Angels fly overhead.”

He tweeted, “Thousands of us in the Civic Center Plaza staring up, gawking as the Blue Angels strafe San Francisco and flip us the bird.” He added: “War planes r flying at low altitudes over SF, reminding me of the $580B for - "US imperialism" - & the pittance 4 climate and human development.”

I'd say Avalos needs a lesson in diplomacy, and more lessons on exactly what our Armed Service Personnel do: They protect us from the Forces of Evil. Every day, men and women work at jobs, positions, etc., keep our country safe, and they deserve credit for that, not rantings from some itty bitty gov't worker who doesn't know Jack. Well, we know Jack, don't we?

And just how often do these fly overs occur? So what's the gripe? Killing machines?? Well, hey, let's just save some bucks and use Cessna 172's instead.

My Grandfather would have a few choice Italian words for this guy.

Many years ago, on a Friday just before the annual S Florida Air Show in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, I was on a day cruise ship that was docking in Ft Laud after a day out. An F-18 Blue Angel going into its landing pattern flew very low overhead at the stern, what a great sight it was seeing that jet so closely in full flight.

They're welcome here any time.

He's getting too much flak from his Constituency, because they probably think the Blues are 'too noisy' and are a nuisance to their sequestered, pampered Bay City lives...

Best Mr. Avalos pay attention to issues that really affect the lives of his fellow San Franciscans, than to worry about something trivial like the Blues.

Taking a "big picture" view, I would say that politicians need an issue to justify their pay; if they can't find one that isn't too controversial and might actually be of real value they will make one up to stay in the headlines. Lawyers may be bottom feeders but politicians, especially those who are lawyers, are the scum they feed on.

Gee, why don't I say what I really think?

Look, the Blue Angels just don't fit the neighborhood any more, and that's all there is to it!

From a quick Google....
When you add up the violent crimes circled on the right you get a total of 6,761 VIOLENT CRIMES IN 2014!

Anyone want to visit beautiful violent San Francisco?

I'd suggest that you only do it from the air, and NOT in a military aircraft, they're too violent! (I think that they scare the muggers and rapists)

I think this gentleman clearly has no understanding of aviation or the air force, let alone terminology. Another fool in a pantheon of fools....

Where Descartes said "Cogito ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am), many people, today, think "I emote, therefore I am".

And to them "What "I" feel is The Truth!" Reality is of a lesser importance.

There are other cities that would love to have Fleet Week and the Blue Angels. Let San Francisco live in it's own fantasy.

Every time I fire my Hawken muzzleloader rifle I remember the people who went west in the 1820's/1830's.

They didn't have an easy life, and all to often, had a very short life.

This "man" is an insult to their memory.

I'll bet this piece of sh_t, Avalos, has never been in the military either. Another member of the Sunshine Patriots. Personally I think they should ban San Francisco's Fleet Week altogether.
Then "frisco can whine about the lost revenue.

Protesting higher SF Pride security, 3 groups bow out of parade
Three organizations have pulled out of this weekend’s Pride Parade in San Francisco as grand
marshals
in protest of the heavy police presence planned during the annual celebration.

Well, if you want to pull back the air force and the navy, then you would certainly want to pull back the police, right?

I think that they have a right to have it their way.
