fsx aircraft thumbnails mixed up...need help

Hi rick,
On all previous occasions the problem with the display of incorrect images has been due to the files being missing from the "UIRES" folder. I saw that Evan was the one with the problem. I haven't read the posts thoroughly and wasn't saying that you had deleted these or any other files.

Please read through the whole thread. This has already been covered & Evan has replied. I even uploaded the files in case they were missing.

I already have those thumbnail downloads installed and it hasn't fixed the issue. what should I try next? I have a thousand aircraft on my flight simulator, and it's pretty difficult, if not impossible, for me to find out which one is problematic.

The problem has since been resolved.

It seems the problem is not as common as it once was. I recall that shortly after FSX was released it seemed like it popped up about once a month. I see in the thread where you referenced and posted the needed files. However, as you quoted, Evan claimed that even after adding the files the problem remained. I realize that making sure that every aircraft has the proper thumbnails would eliminate the need for the files which you posted but I don't understand why they didn't correct his problem. His use of Aircrafter seems to have fixed the problem but that should not have been necessary. At least in my experience. I would like to know why.

Hi Jim. I agree that it would be good to know the reason behind this problem. I can only presume that it affects a specific version of FSX, eg. FSX RTM. SP1, SP2 or Acceleration. Then there's the OS with their little peculiarities. There are so many possible variables these days that it's very difficult to cover them all with one fix.

I still think that having 1,000 aircraft installed to FSX is excessive.
