I experienced similar scenery in my Motorcycle ride around the countryside this afternoon!

(Mind you....I would still like to experience a ride along the Arizona Route 66 desert road for something different!).... ...!

Dodging pot holes is the main pastime when riding on the roads in Lincolnshire and sunken or raised drain covers are a hazard as well. Nice video clips I enjoyed watching them and your clips Paul of the British countryside.

I quite enjoy making these motorcycling videos of the typical English and Welsh Countryside at different times of the year!

I think my cousins across the Atlantic find the contrasting USA/Canada/UK scenery interesting!

I'm still having problems using my camera's external Microphone in my open-face helmet for audio-narrating the videos on the fly, due to excessive wind and engine noise, so I am text-narrating the videos in the editing stage at the moment, until I can sort the problem out!
...(Maybe need a full-face helmet, with the mic inside and the visor down!)

...and I still need practice with my mix of London Cockney and rural Herefordshire accent*... ... ...!

Forecasting a scorcher of a day tomorrow, Sunday 5th June, with a 13* C low, and a 24* C high by the mid afternoon, so I will be wheeling my trusty steed out for another trip to Abergavenny in Wales to meet up with fellow bikers in the 'Bus station park, and the Ocean Café there, for a mug of hot tea and devour my cheese and pickle sandwiches, (I always pack my own sandwiches, etc!)... ...!
As usual, I will be videoing the trip with my SJ Cam 4000, and trying to locate the Microphone "somewhere" so as not to pick up too much wind and engine noise!

Some details of my "new" baby, Daisy, private purchase last Xmas...>>>

The bike is certainly a culture shock after 65 years of owning and riding conventional British and Japanese sports bikes!

I fancied a "Cruiser Motorcycle" for comfortable, armchair rides around the British Countryside with a low seat height, and my feet firmly planted on the ground for security when at a standstill, (so no toppling over, like I did on my Honda CB500RR Twin bike!)... ....!

The seating position still gets some getting used to, even after 6 months of daily riding her. My legs, handlebars, and the foot controls, are all in the wrong places!.... ....!

There is a world of difference between riding a big Harley Davidson/Indian vee-twin-type cruiser, and my 1958 BSA 650cc Super Rocket Café Racer, 1992 Honda CBR 600FM sports bike (got stolen!), etc.... ...!

The Cruiser seating position, with its forward footrests (and controls), does no allow any relief from easing bum cramp by raising oneself up off the footrests.....and the cruiser "seats" are not as comfortable as they appear to be...(for we thin blokes with no bum-fat!)....trust me!... ....!

Still...its lots of fun....and as its still on two-wheels, I cant complain...too much!.... ...!

Its a fantastic, hot, sunny day, today (Sunday 5th. June), I've packed my sandwiches, and am ready for a 30-mile "cruise" from Herefordshire into Wales to meet up with the bikers...and videoing the journey en route!

There you go, Chums....keep an eye on my You-Tube Channel for all my latest excursions around the British countryside!.... ...!

I had a bit of fun last week.......
It was a bank holiday and I went out for an evening ride. I had a lovely time cruising along the country roads. When I had decided to head home, I made for the Autobahn and and cruised in the direction of home. As it was a bank holiday, there was very light traffic and after a while I found myself on my own on a very long straight. Well there was only one thing to do. I had my bike now for four weeks and had got to be very comfortable on her, so I moved to the middle lane and opened the throttle up. I tucked myself down and waited to see what she maxed out at, the book said 180mph...........Well she did Mind you I made several observations.....:

The buffet was quite incredible.
The wind was trying to rip me from the bike.
Holding my head straight and upright took every muscle in my neck.
The fuel gauge was reading significantly less than when I started.
And the scariest part.....I have been cruising the autobahns way to long, I did not think that it felt that fast, mind you if it had gone wrong, I am sure time and speed would have caught up very quickly.
Big tick in the box, big grin, but I wont be doing it again..........It was bloody hard work.

Don't forget to take it carefully, to maintain the Mortgage Payments on your house, as you Wifey will surely tell you!.... .... ...!

Its the constant wind buffeting at speed that I find most uncomfortable on my rides with no windscreen!
...and even more dangerous is the damage to my hearing by wind and engine noise, especially if you wear an open-face helmet like mine, with no face and noise protection!
Even wearing ear plugs (VITAL) has marginal effect on the overall noise experienced.
Any speed over 45 MPH becomes uncomfortable for me!

One of the advantages of riding a "Cruiser" bike, is that folks don't expect to see you travelling at the speed of light...
...the ride just becomes a comfortable cruise to admire the scenery as it glides "slowly?" past!.... ...!

.....mind you, even my little Honda Rebel does get all excited at times, when its safe to do so, and produces a wide grin on my face!.... ... ...!

I have since installed a touring screen on my bike and I always ride with earplugs. I can sit at 80mph quite happily without being blasted. The only blasting I got was from Ozzy for installing the screen. He holds certain views questioning my masculinity for installing it...........

Also, wife, two children and a mortgage, I wont be doing it again.
