Hello Chums!... :D ...!

My latest upload last night (took over two hours to upload!) of a nice trip I took last summer, 2015, on my speedy 2-stroke Yamaha RX-S 100 motorcycle, before I purchased my present Honda Cruiser!
I still use the little Yamaha for times when I want to experience the fun of riding crazy 2-strokes again!... :D ...!

This particular upload I have text-narrated, as an alternative to recording my voice, unsuccessfully, when battling with the wind noise on the microphone when travelling at speed!

2-stroke fun and frolics!... ....>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoUNGkUzM7A

  Another great trip with you. I always enjoy starting my day by having my morning coffee and watching your video's  Oh, you were right about the foot boards. I had one drag on me the other day turning a corner, what a horrid noise it makes. I now know how far you can lean before scraping the board though.

Keep smiling

I would fit sparking sliders to those boards Tug – wouldn’t help the ground clearance any, but you’d look mega-cool scraping them!

Fantastic to hear, Tug!

With coming up to 13,00 viewings so far, it seem that there are lots of folks interested in these funny two-wheeled thingies that we so much enjoy running around on!.... ...!

I post a similar motorcycle thread on another Flight Sims which also gets loads of interest and viewings!

Maybe Pilots and Motorcyclists have lots in common with each other, particularly when it comes to weather, and observation!

Motorcycling may have very little to do with Flight Simming, but in this case, at least it keeps the Forums active!....which is always a good thing!... :D...!

***********
Tug;... I like Sinkrates idea with the sparking sliders attached to the footboards to create sparks in sharp cornering, but remember, that Harley of yours is no Ducati sporting speed machine for having fun/dying on the Interstate-405 Mulholland Drive "Twisties".... .... ...!

Just done some tests of my Mic fitted inside my open face helmet, but the wind noise always drowns out my voice....
I think I am going to have to suffer wearing a full-face helmet, with the visor pulled full down to prevent external sounds being recorded.... ....!

I prefer the freedom of open face helmets!... :) ...!

There you go, Chums... ;) ...!

...more riding and videoing to come!.... ...!

You could try a throat mic like US aircrew used in WWII. Plenty to choose from & much cheaper than a new helmet.

Never thought of that Doug!

Do you know what! I have an original leather throat mike together with various Radio Transmitters and Radio Receivers from the 1940's when I used to buy War Surplus bits and bobs during the 1940's and 1950's when there were lots of ex WD stuff around.
They may be difficult to match to modern, domestic Voice Recorders which use the latest Lavalier Condenser Mics....

I have loads of Khaki-coloured stuff dotted around the house, (and garden shed!).... ...!

Talking about; "Army Stuff"..... ;) ....

I love these old Harley 45; "Flat Heads"!.....

The ultimate in simplicity; (Side-Valve engines!).

For complexity see Harley; "Knucklehead"....>>>

Both fantastic machines!

Speaking of Harleys, I spotted this in Brighton last week.
Image

Among other refinements it has a large spanner for a stand & a bottle opener fitted between the cylinders. 8-)

Many thanks for the photo's, Doug!

Fantastic!

Just looking at the engine, it reminds me somewhat of the old; "Shovelhead" design...>>> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley-Da ... ead_engine

I suspect that the whole bike has been built from parts from different time periods, including the engine and the old springer front forks, etc!
A Harley owner may be able to confirm!
Its always difficult to identify Harley Davidsons, because many/most of their owners "customise" their particular bikes to make them individual!
You rarely see two Harley Davidson bikes looking the same as each other...... even if all their owners all look the same!.... ;) .... ....!

Bank Holiday Sunday's bike ride in the sunshine was great, meeting up, and chatting with all the Bikers at Abergavenny, and then following the old road route from Abergavenny to Monmouth before the modern A40 Dual Carriageway (Freeway) was built.

Part of my long journey...>>>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYjSZyGOJE8

(Sorry about the wind, etc, noise, on my microphone inside my helmet!)........ ;) ...!

I love searching out the old road and rail systems from my travels in the 1940's and 1950's in Herefordshire and Monmouthshire, before the modern building work; roads, rail, and houses, was carried out after the War.
The remains of many of these old roads can still be searched out, and I find them with the help of my old Ordnance Survey maps!
(I have the same sort of fun with my FSX Flight Sim in the USA).
Its amazing just how much the countryside has changed over my lifetime, and I often think back with nostalgia to much quieter times, with much less, and slower, traffic!.... ...!

The weather is still holding up, with sunshine now and again, so I'm off again, with my camera attached to my helmet to video some more amazing journeys of exploration around the local countryside!

Paul.... :D ....!

...more stuff to follow!

Something rather appealing about the rat look, however, it has to be the right bike. My crotch rocket would look dreadful with that look......

"Bobbers" they call them, Matt.... :D ...!

Modification to the original bike to make it look like a; "Rat Bike".

A popular mod for my Honda Rebel Cruiser...>>> https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Honda ... 66&bih=837

I will leave mine as standard because it already has a "Bobber" look as standard...The rear Fender/Mudguard with its "Duck's Behind".... ...!

Many Harley-Davidsons are "Bobbed" by their owners to make them look individual.....
...mind you...many of them are Bobbed/Easy-Rider style straight out of the factory!... :D ...!

And, of course, the 45-degree, big Vee-twin rumble sound through open pipes makes the classic sound and appearance like no other!

I just need a Harley Fat Bob engine in my Honda Rebel...(in my dreams!)..... ....!
