I would suspect that it is a special scenery installation, showing either updraught effects at a Glider Airfield, or a special scenery showing way-point effects to complete a flying Mission .

Either way, I would suspect that both types will be be a "special scenery" download and installation!

That's the schematic representation of the thermal visualization, normally used with gliders. To get rid of them, open "Settings", "Customize", click the "Weather" tab, and select either "None" or "Natural" from the "Thermal Visualization" drop-down menu.

Be sure to save your flight afterwards, or it may revert back to showing the spirals.

Its your "CLOUD" / Weather Textures

meaning you should turn down your Cloud settings under the weather settings area

also means your Video Graphics card is pushed beyond its limits and the Graphics card can't handle the textures , especially if your in complex scenery like mountainous areas or a city that's heavily textured .

This was a result of something you recently added. A scenery or a airport for gliders. Usually the readme file that is in most downloads will let you know exactly what you can expect from the download but not all ways true.

No, it was not the weather, and no, nothing has changed. :naughty:
Boikat gave the right answer: the green spirals are thermals. There is an option in the simulator options to choose how the thermals should appear:
- Schematic: green spirals to show more easily where the thermals are. This is very helpfull for the beginner glider pilots.
- Natural: instead of the green spirals, the sim will place two or three eagles soaring in the thermal, to help you spot the thermals like in real life.
- None: the thermals are still there, but there won't be any visual hint to spot them.

In your case, to solve your problem, you simply have to change this option to "Natural" or "None". The green ribons/spirals will be gone.
Just keep in mind, on very old computers, the "Natural" option has some impact on the FPS ;)

So if a Flight Simmer sees those Thermal Green Thingys, its OK, its normal, theres nothing wrong with your sim or computer

Adjust your Cloud / Weather settings
