Its in the middle of Winter, and the grass is far too wet to cut! .... (Waiting 'till the Spring!)... ;) ...!

It’s springtime already here in sunny Gloucestershire (winter never really came to us this year) and I’ve just given my back lawn its first mowing of the season. Quite a lot of cat poo – yuck! Particularly galling as I don’t even have a cat!

My last bike (BMW 12GS) had a screen similar to yours and I have to admit, although it looked a bit silly, it was very good at keeping the bugs off. Well my chest area anyway; helmet still got splattered! Its best feature though was the heated grips and hand shields. What a luxury after years of frozen fingers!

My next bike (pipe dream) will have to have:

Heated Grips.
Handshields.
Large screen to keep bugs off.
A big padded seat for my fat arse!
A huge V twin engine with masses of power.
Big petrol tank with a proper reserve.
Really loud straight-through exhaust.
Self-cleaning chrome!

Oh, and one last thing.....a rabbit deflector! In all my years of biking, I've had more trouble from varmints than all the dumbass cagers put together!

Beware Lads... :? ...!

Watch out for the CHP (California Highway Patrol), when out and about on your Bike...

Don’t I just know it! The smeggers banned me for two weeks and fined me £300 for having the audacity to ride my Yammy YZF on the Queen’s highway back in 1998. I thought I was hard done by, but it was nothing compared to the draconian punishments being meted out by the (so-called) courts today. If they put half the effort into catching burglars, thugs, paedophiles, junkies etc, blah, blah, blah!

If things get any worse, I shall jolly well join the Tory party and write a stiff letter to the Times!

On a lighter note, today, I arr bin pruning my trees and cleaning out the fish pond. Well, call it a pond; it’s just full of frogs and newts now. Nice to see the newts back again after all these years, especially in the middle of a housing estate.

Daisy looks resplendent with her new luggage. Shame about the dented tank; are you going to fix it?

Sink...!

The dent in the tank is the trade mark of all Honda Rebels.
Mine is the deluxe version of the Rebel., with a dent on both sides of the tank..... ....!

A Honda Rebel sans ding on the tank is not an original Rebel...trust me... ...!

Lovely sunny day today...but far too cold for a comfortable ride!

Ignoring the engine and exhaust pipes and stuff on the tank.....

(Note the location of the front Indicator lights, and figure it out)

Sure, I can see how the indicators would contact the tank if there are no lock stops on the forks, but it must have been one ferocious turn to have dented the tank so much! I guess the previous owner must have dropped it to cause that kind of damage, but to a casual observer it might appear as if you had done it!

Sink...

...with 7 previous owners and 25,000 miles since new in 1996, (import from Belgium, registered in England in 1998), its quite likely that one or two of them have gently laid the bike down on its side on occasions... and allowed the indicators to kiss the tank on the end of their flexible stems... ...!

Knocking the dent(s) out from the inside of the tank will only create more visible dimples on the outside.... :( ...!

Its cheaper to purchase a replacement tank (<£80)...and then time for a complete re-paint of the bike, (black, to contrast with the chrome)!

...and as for the snow!!!

You are very welcome to keep that!

Flying Trucker is the only person I know who loves it!... :o ...!

I have a great idea Paul for getting rid of the dent in your tank. Just plug your vacuum cleaner hose into the "Blow" end of your hoover and connect the other end to your fuel filler. Switch on and just watch the dint pop out!
Oh, of course make sure the fuel tap is off.

Talking about Arizona, etc....

I'll tell you something what always fascinates me when watching USA Motorcycle rides on You-Tube, the fact the the roads are awash with very useful road signs, both on the road and the roadside!
Typical examples are the roadside, diamond shaped, yellow signs indicating the passage and shape of the road ahead!
Regular warnings of maximum speeds, crossing markers and intersection markers, etc, on the road.

Every sort of useful sign to aid the drivers safely in their highway travels!

The various Highways Departments take a lot of time and trouble erecting all these advisory signs in all areas which need them!

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=US+Ro ... 80&bih=845

Useful advice...>>> Image

We just have to trust to blind faith over here!

...no STOP SIGNS at intersections!... ...!
