A short history of American AAR. ^-^ It was nice of them to briefly mention those crazee Brits who invented to system used by the majority of the worlds AAR customers - and the sensible chaps of the USN and USMC!

My grandfather was awarded the MBE for his part in the development (it hangs proudly on the wall in my house), he was involved in modifying the Vulcan that was used during testing.

B1 (Cat C) licenced engineer, Boeing 737NG 600/700/800/900 Airbus A318/19/20/21 and Dash8 Q-400
1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Sad to say, that is all I know. He was a man of few words. I would love to have found out more, but sadly, that opportunity is now many years past, how ever, this is what we wanted me to have after he passed:

It was good work - th HDU in the back of everything up to the Voyager was essentially the same as that put in all three V-Bombers (V-Tankers?). It was generally pretty reliable too - it was just a shame that one of its main users, the dirty Herc, was so slow! <<s
