Thanks Trucker I was lucky enough to see the last lightning flight in the uk while I was stopped at traffic lights 23rd july 1992 XR724 flown from RAF Shawbury to Binbrook by Peter Gordon Johnson. The lightnings at Thunder City have flown again last year and the restoration of XS422 to flight at Stennis.

Ahhhh, BOB, Queen of the Skies. The VC-10 paint job never really shine like that though - it was more a satin/matt finish. It's a shame they didn't paint up the Typhoon fives years earlier either!
