My latest e-mail for all the Fozzer Family:

Sunday then 27th of December 2015...>>>

************************************
"Hello My darlins'....

Sunday Morning.

I've been dreaming all night about a meet-up with the rest of the Bikers at Abeargavenny, on my new Honda Rebel Cruiser...

...and what 'appens?

.....its pouring down with more bloody rain again!

So whilst my Sunday Dins is cooking on the Stove, (and consuming vast quantities of Vino to drown my sorrows), I'm watching some more happy bikers enjoying themselves over in Sunny Californin (Santa Clarita, North of Los Angeles), and wishing I was enjoying the ride there with them...in the California sunshine!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ0fEMeyURU

I desperately need some nice, warm, cosy weather to enjoy my regular Bike rides, and videos of my trips to post in the Internet!

There you go. my darlins'

Until I can post the REAL STUFF....

I just hope for nice times ahead, in the Spring and Summer!

Loads of love to you all!

Dad...the frantic Biker!"

*****************************

Illustrating the miserable weather in England at the moment, and hoping for more pleasant times ahead, eg; Sunshine and Warmth!

I have been out in the sun repairing the wiper mechanism on the car this morning. When are we going to get some pictures of your new bike sorry Daisy?

What is this magic ingredient of which you speak?..."SUN"?.... :o ....!

I've long forgotten what it looks like, or feels like!.... ....!

In the meantime, this is the Seller's photo of "Daisy", before I clean her, polish her, and adorn her with all the various attirements that serious Cruiser Bikers adorn their/our machines with.... ;) ....!

Image

I just need to wait for it to stop bloody raining, to wheel her out of my house and carry out all the work on her outside!

Jobs to do:
Wash her down all over with GUNK, then polish..
Fit my throw-over saddle bags (with all the studs).
Fit a Sissy Bar with luggage rack.
Fit a crash bar with extra foot pegs.
Fit twin driving lights.
Fit a wind screen.
Fit forward controls extender.
Fit toe boards.

Fit lots of tassels..... and a Confederate Flag on the rear... ;) ...!

Sorted!.... ....!

You forgot to remove the un-needed pillion seat. Unless of course you intend to acquire a long-haired moll to accompany you to Llanfairpwchgwyngychgolgerychwyndrobrllantysiliogogogoch in the future.

Forget the Moll, Log.... :o ....

That seat, together with a Sissy Bar and rear carrier, is useful for stowing all my Summer-time camping gear... ;) ...!

Ta, Sean!.... :D ....!

First motorcycle!.... :o ....!

I've been riding these two-wheeled thingies for the past 65+ years. Brit and Jap Bikes.

'Trubble is, at 82, 5'-7" high (and shrinking everywhere), and weighing a mere 152 Lbs with muscles of wet string, I now have difficulty in safely manoeuvring my heavy machines around, so I have abandoned my heavy Jap and Brit Sports bikes (including my old, 1948 1000cc Vincent HRD vee-twin), and relegated myself to a lightweight Honda Rebel cruiser now, for manageable comfort rather than great speed!.... :D

The Honda 250 Rebel is extremely popular in the USA, and is still listed by Honda in their 2016 model line-up!
...not bad for a bike designed in 1986, with a simple, un-burstable twin cylinder engine!

http://powersports.honda.com/2016/rebel.aspx

All I need now, is for it to stop bloody raining (El Nino in California, El Raino in my back garden), so I can go out for a nice ride!

As soon as it stops raining I'll take some more photo's of her (Daisy)....

That's a nice looking bike Foz. Wouldn't mind one like it myself, but scaled up a bit to haul my huge bulk around!

I tried a pair of throwovers on my old Kwak 1100 once and the exhausts burned through the bottom of them. Hope that doesn't happen to yours.

What do you guys do with your fancy tax disc holders now that discs are no longer needed?

Hello Sink!.... :D ...!

I agree...a nice Harley Street Glide would be lovely, but I would die with a heart attack trying to pick it up after it falling over on me!... :o ....!

I've reached the age when I need; "Manageable" bikes now, and the little Rebel at around 130 Lbs weight suits me just fine!

I've go a pair of nice saddle bags...complete with the obligatory Studs...>>> Image

...and my old "Tax Disc" holders, I dangle from the tassels on my brake and clutch levers on my Rebel Cruiser.

Lots more fancy stuff to adorn "Daisy" with, at the moment!.... ....!

(I'm still not quite sure about the; "Confederate Flag". It may rattle a few cages!.... ....).... ...!

When I purchased my "new" Honda Rebel Cruiser just before Xmas, I didn't know at the time that it was an "imported model", (from some strange foreign country), and has a speedometer calibrated in Kilometres, (speed and mileage), which, to me, born in the land of Pounds Shillings and Pence, Feet and Inches, Fahrenheit, and MPH; looking at the speedometer, it might just as well be calibrated in Egyptian Hiero-bleedin'-glyphics!

It has a couple of markings on the glass indicating 30, 40, and 50 MPH to warn the rider about local speed limits, but anywhere else throughout the range, I am completely in the dark regarding speed!

Sometime, I'm going to have to purchase a "MPH" Speedometer to keep me safe from the Law!

I blame France for all this new-fangled; "Metric Kilo" stuff!

Kilometre Kalamity!...>>> Image

...and in the meantime, its freezing cold, and pouring with rain every day, preventing me from going for my lovely Bike Rides!

Can you find a 5/8 multiplier that fits between your Speedo and the cable? Do a google search, you'll probably find one in Canada going cheap.

Funny you should mention that, Log...

One of my Lads has a People Carrier with a KPH speedometer, which he has fitted an electronic device to convert the readings to MPH...

The only confusion is, the needle hardly moves around the clock at slow and normal cruising speeds!....

...the remainder of the dial reading is wasted.... ;) ...!

The comparison between KPH and MPH readings on the official British import Honda Rebel...MPH AND KPH!....>>>

...showing how out-of-kilter the two readings are!.... ...!

This is what I will be stuffed with buying!...>>> http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CMX2 ... art_89519/

I leave all this newfangled Metric stuff for the Youngsters!.... ...!

Paul..... :D ...!

I'll have a peek at what you suggested, Log...mechanical device.... ;) ...!

Your quoted one is out of stock....

...but...

Looks like this from Amazon UK, Log!...>>>>

Worth considering, but almost the price of a new Honda Rebel speedo!

Many thanks, Log!
