When I was younger I would ride till the first snow fall then just think about putting it up. The last spill I had 2 years ago in the cool weather because of cold tires has made me not ride in cold weather as that little spill cost me $1,500 in repairs  so now I am just a warm weather rider. <<s

Ice and snow, shopping, I either have to catch a 'Bus, cadge a lift from a motorist, or go without food!

Hopefully, with "Global Warming", ice and snow will become a rare event in my locality!.... ...!

I may even get a little bit of Arizona..... .... ...!

Brrr Paul. Way back in the '60's I rode my 600cc Norton to and from work in all weathers. I lived in MQ's at Hemswell Lincs and worked at Scampton. It was 12 miles if I remember correctly using the crash gate behind D dispersal. I'd get home sometimes with my knees frozen so bad, my wife thought I was a dwarf (in more ways than one) Glad those days are past.

Where most of us replace our original exhaust pipes with a set of pipes to make more noise/sound so that folks can hear us coming, for our safety, and theirs, I would be very alarmed about travelling the highways and byways at high speed in complete silence, using only an electric motor for propulsion!

Just imagine a Harley Davidson Street Glide fitted with a Vacuum Cleaner electric motor!.... :o ....!

...and fitting cigarette cards in our wheel spokes to create a sound!!

Foz, just a note to let you know Wendy and I are well and riding where we can.....We did a little trip this summer to a place I have wanted to visit for a few years now and finally made the thing happen. See if you can guess the location before you get to the pics that will identify our destination.....I know I didn't leave any clues but it may be quite famous from the "old days" of TV.

Heading out on the second ferry of the day......Views out on the water were typical of the west coast.....you might just be able to see our bikes on the front left of the ferry vehicle deck....
Image

Looking up West Howe Sound, from in town.......Scenery to be appreciated....
Image

This should be the tip-off....
Image

And finally, Nick's old ride on the water....
Image

And the general mode of travel around here if you want to get anywhere......this was our ferry coming in to take us back to Saltery Bay and the Ferry out of Powell River heading for Vancouver Island.

Wonderful to you and Wendy again, Ken.... :D ....!

Good to see you are both well and enjoying your Bike rides....with Wendy still on her Bergman 650cc Scooter?

Winter-time in England now, which has curbed my usual long distance Bike rides somewhat, although, as my bike is my only means of daily transport, I still ride to Sainsbury's every day for my shopping, to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms!... ....!

I am still seriously busting a gut, trying to get hold of a nice late model, '96-2004, Honda Rebel CMX 250C Cruiser, for the up-coming Spring and Summer tours!

Although extremely popular in the USA (their owners love them to bits!) and can still be purchased new, 2016 there, over here although there are lots of 125cc versions around, at very high prices, the 250cc versions are quite rare since the end of the UK; "Learner Laws".

I've still got my immaculate Honda CB500 RR twin Bike, stored indoors for the past 3+ years since it fell over on me when at a standstill!
Its getting too big and bulky for me to manage now, with its fat tank, high seat and rear-sets... and at 5'-7" on a good day, I need both feet firmly/safely planted on the ground now... Cruiser style!

My little, classic Yamaha RX-S 98cc two-stroke bundle-of-joy takes me everywhere around the County at the moment!

Watching the "Eagle Riders" USA west coast Harley Davidson tours on You Tube...and envying every minute!

Paul...I need a Cruiser...soon!.... :D ...!

Early Sunday Morning, December 20th!

Off from Hereford to Manchester to collect my new (S/H) Cruiser Motorcycle: Honda Rebel.... ....!

Advertised on E-bay and Gumtree.

A long old trip, 130-odd miles there, with one of my Lads in a hired Van.

Hopefully, if all goes well, I will have a nice comfy cruiser for my tours around the English Countryside with my Go-Pro Video Camera, to post some tours on You-Tube, etc!

Looking forward to that, in the Spring and Summer months ahead!

Photos later!

In the depths of Winter at the moment!

Had the bike out today a beautiful warm and sunny day in Lincolnshire especially for the middle of December, Headed to Sandtoft and then to Finningley, Market Rasen, past Binbrook past Humberside airport,South Ferriby and home a pleasant trip and good to be back on two wheels. When the sun shines and its a nice day in December you have to make the most of it.
Fozzer see below NO SNOW.

Hope you enjoy your New Bike Dave.

Took a trip from Hereford to Manchester by Van last Sunday (Dec 20th) to collect my new Dream Machine from its previous reluctant owner!

1998 Honda CMX 250C Rebel.

The Seller's Photo:...>>>

Image

She is now nestled in between my Honda CB500RR and my Yamaha RX-S 100...
...and Daisy likes her new location!.... .....!

She just needs a good clean and a polish, and some tender loving care (TLC), and lots of nice shiny extras added...(list to follow!).

As soon as it stops bloody raining in England, I'll take her outside and take some more photo's of her, and her companions.

All Taxed and Insured (and MOT'd) so she is all ready for the highways and byways of rural Herefordshire, and elsewhere!

....Arizona and New Mexico would be rather nice this time of the year!.... :D

...it just need to stop bloody raining now!..... ...!

Paul.....just cruisin'..... ...!

Looks nice and clean the weather today is wet and cold and the winds picking up in contrast to yesterday warm and sunny, enjoy your new purchase if we get another nice day.

The only Daisy I knew from growing up was Daisy Duke, the weather today is not very biker friendly today.

..with my fascination with "Sim Flying" in the Southern USA, "Daisy", from the "Dukes of Hazard", sounds very appropriate for my new Cruiser Bike!

I was very lucky with the weather yesterday just a bit windy but warm and dry and the sun was out good for biking, don't get many chances to ride in the winter months.

The weather is a nightmare at the moment.....

..dark, cold, wet, and miserable!

I'm busting to go for a nice ride on my new Bike, but it wont be a pleasurable experience in this sort of weather we are having every day!

Finished my Xmas Dins today,

Image

Image

....and tomorrow will be Boxing Day with all the shops open again, so I've just got to go to Halfords to get a replacement rear number plate bulb for the Bike, and a another tin of "GUNK" to wash off all the oil from the frame, wheels, and engine....
...clean all the chrome parts, (lots of them), and then she will be as shiny as new.... ...!

I just need it to stop bleedin' raining!
