All you have to do is change the old model name to the same as the original model and rename the original model if you don't fsx will crash. P3d users should be able to run it without any problems. This model is very nice and comes with a few different liveries. The screenshots are from Fsx gold + acc runs ok no problems.

Thanks for the heads-up Dave. What a super little puddle-jumper. 8-)

It's only the interior MDL (VC) that needs changing. I find it easier to edit Model.cfg to point it to the relevant MDL like this:

[models]
normal=A5
interior=A5_interior_old

Remember, the Icon A5 was a default aircraft in Microsoft " Flight".
Since both Flight and FSX are microsoft products we may be able to just pull the Icon A5 file from FLIGHT and install it into FSX. Has anybody ever tried that yet?

Thanks, Dave. Even though I have some aircraft from that site, I'd forgotten about the site its self.

If anyone wants a great low & slow, the Corben Baby Ace is just about perfect.

Now I'll go and post some pictures of the Taube. It works perfectly in P3d. :D

Thanks again.

IIRC, "Flight" models are totally incompatible with FSX. I could be wrong.

If somebody gets around to trying it we can know for sure. I would do it myself but I got rid of FLIGHT a long time ago and don't want to bother with it anymore.

One of the textures does not show up to fix this change this
[fltsim.0]
title=Icon A5 Livery 0
sim=a5
model=
panel=
sound=
texture="Livery 0"
atc_parking_types=
atc_id=GLA2011
atc_airline=ICON
kb_checklists=A5_check
kb_reference=A5_ref
ui_manufacturer="Icon Aircraft"
ui_type="A5"
ui_variation="Livery 0"
description=

to this
[fltsim.0]
title=Icon A5 Livery
sim=a5
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=Livery_0
atc_parking_types=
atc_id=GLA2011
atc_airline=ICON
kb_checklists=A5_check
kb_reference=A5_ref
ui_manufacturer="Icon Aircraft"
ui_type="A5"
ui_variation="Livery 0"
description=

plus you need to add thumbnails heres mine starting at livery 0-8 in the order they should go in the texture folders.

Thanks Dave I didn't know this (real) plane.

I have found this here at simviation:

http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=icon+a5&categoryId=

Apart of the FSX conversion there is another version of this plane (the Rara Avis has better VC) and a 2D panel with some intersting windows.

Ha have installed this 2D panel in the Rara Avis one. All OK
