Bike ride from Hereford to Abergavenny with the Bikers.

Sunday 25th October.

Cold start; 7*C! Wrapped up with all sorts of clothes to keep warm, means its difficult to swivel around, and keep a watch-out on any danger!

I videoed the journey there and back, (total of 28 miles), with the camera fitted on the side of the bike, for an unusual angle!

There's not much fun riding the bike when its really cold in the Winter...but its my only means of daily transport!

I yearn for warm, sunny weather, every year!

I've got loads of "Go Pro" Biking videos done now, but no easy way of "uploading" them for all to see, due to very slow, (0.3/Mbs on a good day), British, Broadband, Copper-wire, Internet!

Uploading to "You Tube" is similar to slow-motion castration!....So I've given up on that idea!.... :o ...!

(I just use "Dropbox" now, for size-restricted videos).

Did some videos of myself and the scenery this morning, on my trip to Sainsbury's and back, with the camera fixed to my Bike facing towards me!

...scary!.... .... ... ...!

Lots more Biking...and Videoing to come!... :D ..!

Doing this made the boost gauge on the bike useless so I had to install a pressure gauge on the outlet side of the turbo and mount it on the dash where you could see it easily. This done created other problems when the overcharge valve popped at 14 psi. I got around that by removing the valve and blocking the port but once done you had to watch the pressure closely because it would build fast and go past 14 psi quickly and blow the head off the bike. The highest I ever took the pressure was up to 20 psi then backed off as this caused the clutch to slip as it was not designed for that much power. Before I sold the bike I returned it to original as I didn't want the young guy I sold it to to blow up the engine.

So, Tug... ;) ....

...was it really worth all the effort?... ...!

I mostly like leaving things as standard....

Paul... ...!

Its just my little Flight Sim Cessna 150 that is exhaust driven turbocharged... and the results are always in my imagination!.... ...!

Back in the day when I liked to tinker with things I would say it was worth the effort. The clutch only slipped when I had the wife on the bike with me and she always was giving me hell for raising the front wheel off the ground any way. Yes I would say worth the effort as I got a little over 120 bhp at the rear wheel with the mods which was good for a 1982 650. I never dyno tested it, just a guess off the stock HP. I still like to tinker with the insides of my computer though

Hello Biking Chums!

Just a couple of short videos of some of my local shopping journeys as a bit of an experiment to obtain different filming angles!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gowwrk7qewk1o ... 1.mp4?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zmojwysdp43gw ... 1.mp4?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6otg9cwg5yeqx ... a.mp4?dl=0

To be able to store my Videos in Dropbox, (2 GB Max in one go), I have to make them very short, so catch them before I have to remove them to make room for some more!

Got lots of long, 1-hour Biking videos, but upload time and storage are always a problem!

So take a shopping trip, and sing along with Fozzer!.....Scary!.... ... ...!

Paul....Bike it, you'll like it!.... ...!

Ruddy maniac, riding on the sidewalk. I got a 10 bob fine for that when I was 16. And no wonder nobody can hear you singing with the noise of that 98 and the squeaky brake. Should have a law against you they should. :snooty:

..... .... ....!

When it come to complying with; "The Law", Log, we Oldies can always plead; "temporary insanity", and can get off with just a pat on the head, and a soft boiled sweet.

That Side-walk/Footpath has seen a large variety of both Solo and Sidecar Motorcycles ridden up it for the past 55 years since moving there, and parked in my front garden (before the Privet hedge was planted there).
I have confirmed the legality of the access to my property with my various Steeds with the local Law Enforcement Brigade, and they confirm that its OK, providing that I do not collide with; "Other Users", causing annoyance, injury, or death.... :D ....!

I've got to do something about my sqweeky skweeky squeeky squeaky front and back brakes, sometime!
It probably involves removing the brake shoes, and taking the shine off the linings with a coarse file, and clearing any brake dust out of both drums....
...but the weather outside is getting rather cold to do the job, and I prefer to remain indoors in the warm.... ;) ...!

Whatever happens, it does not deter me from singing out loud as I travel the Queen's Highway on my various machines!.... :D ...!

Hum along with Fozz!.... ...!

As a change from my usual Yamaha RX-S 100, 98cc 11BHP, 2-stroke, Speed Machine....

Image

I wheeled out my 125 MPH, 60 BHP, twin cylinder, Honda CB500RR, after 3 years of resting inside my house, with her battery on constant trickle-charge.
Replenished the petrol, fired her up, listened to the growl of the Art exhaust can, and took her for a quick blast to remind me of the difference between 11 BHP and 60 BHP....

...scary!.... ....!

Image

Popped her back indoors again to rest, while I wait for a new Honda CMX 250C Cruiser to arrive...sometime soon!

One of my good Flight Sim friends has spotted this thread, and requested that I show all of you his recently purchased, pride and joy....

His brand-spanking new, Lexmoto Arizona, laid-back, comfy, Cruiser.!... :D ....>>>

His previous bike was a very nice Yamaha SR 125 Cruiser.

But his latest acquisition has even more shiny chrome to display!

He is very proud of it, as all we Bikers are, of our machines!

We are just looking forward to some nice "Summer" weather now, to enjoy our rides, after Winter is over!

Paul..... ...!

..this "Michigan" model reminds me of the Harley Davidson "72" and "48", with its triangular, pear-drop, red tank!...>>>> http://www.lexmoto.co.uk/ZS125-79.php

A fascinating link posted by our "Jetranger", in the Auto Section, revealing some interesting news from the motorcycling world...>>> viewtopic.php?f=33&t=173788#p1281010

http://selvedgeyard.com/

References to many well-known "strangely duplicate!" locations in both Great Britain and the USA!

Many thanks for the link, Jet!... ...!

Winter-time in England now, with my motorbike ride-outs slowly diminishing in the cold weather, but as my trusty beasts are my only means of daily transport, I have no other choice but to weather the winter chill every day!

I'm still on the look-out, every day, for my new Honda Rebel, Comfy Cruiser!
One or two nice examples around, at an affordable price, but too far away to inspect, or arrange transport!

In the meantime, my present Honda and Yamaha bikes will have to fulfil my daily transport needs!

...thanks again for the link, Jet!

Its a washout this side of the country at the moment but it is mild waiting for a dry day to winterize the boat. Got plenty of little jobs in the garage to keep me occupied.

Why I love the freedom of riding a Motorcycle....>>>>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpBtO9j1wcg

... and a bit of the; "American Dream" thrown in for good measure as well!... :D ...!

Its a wonderful experience that can never be achieved within the enclosure of a Motor Car!

Will Roger's Highway: "Route 66" has always had a sort of magic for me, all through my many Biking years, especially the run from Albuquerque (Alber-Kirky; I defy any non-American to spell that word correctly... ...), to Barstow, via Gallup. Holbrook, Winslow, Flagstaff Seligman, Hackberry, Kingman, Oatman, Needles and Barstow, ending up at Santa Monica Boulevard, on the Pacific Coast!
A magic route, through some magic scenery, and some magic folks to meet along the way!

(I regularly "Sim Fly" that route in my FS2004 and FSX!)... ...!

I just wish that I wasn't too old now to experience that journey on a big Harley Davidson Cruiser (Eagle Riders)!
http://www.eaglerider.com/

I'm just waiting for next-year's Summer to arrive now, to throw over my saddle-bags, astride my trusty beast, and take to the road again for a tour of the English (and Welsh) countryside!

Its just a shame that I won't experience the New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California scenery along the way!.... ...!

Paul....with Winter rapidly approaching....!

I just put my bike away in storage and not a moment too soon as the temp here this morning is a balmy -7c. A little to cool for me any more. When I was younger I would ride till the first snow fall then just think about putting it up. The last spill I had 2 years ago in the cool weather because of cold tires has made me not ride in cold weather as that little spill cost me $1,500 in repairs  so now I am just a warm weather rider. <<s
