.... ... ... ...!

Evolution with a vengeance!.... :o ....!

I recall the days when I used to repair television sets, (and radio sets), with their massive cathode-ray tubes, heavy mains transformers, speaker transformers, high voltage generators, various valves, resistors, condensers, coils, etc, all enclosed in a very large wooden box.

The advantage: Every thing was repairable and replaceable!

Nowadays, its all enclosed in a wafer-thin plastic case, and thrown away if something goes wrong with any of the internal magic bits!

I've still got a garden shed full of the old stuff, including boxes of thermionic valves, etc!

Paul....an old-time radio bloke!.... ...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.
