You're sure you have a legit FSX?

Can you provide a screenshot?
I don't know if I can add screenshots here because for some reason, it won't let me do that because I get an error message saying that the file is too large. :?

I can best describe the problem that I am having as the airport looks like it's in a giant sinkhole. I am unable to post a screenshot for you guys, so I would like to know if there are any suggestions for how to post screenshots here without getting the error message that the file size is too large. This is extremely confusing and frustrating, to say the least. :x

To post screenshots, first, resize the images to 1024 wide, and follow the instructions on the "upload images" page (Just click the "Upload Images" box on the upper right under the banner. Also, make sure the file size is within the limits).

As far as the airport goes, as I posted, mine is the same. I had installed a South America mesh, but I do not know if it was "sunken" before I added the mesh or not. I'm guessing there is only a few ways to fix the problem, and the more better is to change the altitude of the airport. I think there are some tools available to do that, so freeware, some payware. I've never messed with them before, however.

You can fly helicopters there instead  I would suggest getting a new copy, or switching to a different version of FSX. I heard Steam Edition doesn't have as many bugs.

could you give me the info on the tools that can be used to change the Cali airport's altitude in FSX? I would like to have an idea of where to look.

Like I said, I've never messed with them, and the only one I can recall off the top of my head is ADE, Airport Design Editor.

I'll certainly consider that option.

Sorry for reporting back to you guys this late. I had to figure out how to resize the screeenshot I want to post here. This will allow me to give you an idea of my problem. This is what the terrain around the airfield looks like, and I am wondering if I can fix it with Airport Design Editor. Just so you guys know, I would like to fix this problem in as easy a way as possible, as I would prefer to stick with my current version of flight simulator. I don't know that my current flight simulator aircraft/scenery, etc. are compatible with Flight Simulator X steam. What I would like to know regarding the screenshot above is whether the terrain should be lowered or raised.

It looks like you have to raise the elevation of the airport. Again, I've not used ADE, but I watched a "how to" vid, and there is a way to change the elevation of the airport.

Could you send me the link to the How to video?

Google is your friend. Just go to Google and type in "ADE Tutorial FSX"

This is something that might help you out.
After uninstalling the file exit out of FSX than find and rename the FSXSCENERY.CFG file rename it to FSXSCENERY.BAK This will cause FSX to rebuild it than see if the error still exists. Mind you this is NOT I repeat NOT the FSX.CFG file. I believe this file can be found in the main root folder of FSX but not 100% sure.
If the problem is no longer there than the file you have is bad in some way or the other.

This will be my second option, but first, I would like to see if I can use Airport Design Editor to change the airport's elevation. I posted a screenshot to show you what the current altitude of SKCL (Cali, Colombia) is (in feet). This will help me to figure out how many feet. This is the Stock Airport's current altitude.

Hi. My Cali Columbia scenery shows the airport on a plateau with an altitude of 3010 ft. It sits in the middle of a large depression like an old crater. Not sure if FTX Global and Vector have made a difference or not. Did not fly to South America except Rio.
