OK chaps I really enjoy looking at the screenshots you wonderful people post but I have a plea, would it be possible to add some details about the scenery and aircraft shown in the shots. 8-)

Cheers

O KEY Maguey, I cooperate (my tastes beware & forgive, por favor):
I start with two Bowers Fly Baby's, at San Sebastián airport (Spain) - FS 2004 configured as Silver Wings, with CalClassic Trafic 1957 Addon Scenery.

Fultons "Snow Owl"

"Tiger Moth"

Gee Bee model Z "Dream Machine" (my first modified Alpha channel, a little too strong) at the Cleveland Race Course - FS Golden Wings 3

The next Gee Bee model Z "Transload Racer" screenshots (in FS Golden Wings 3, flying over water), are comparing the default Alpha Channel with my modified one: I did it because the black paint looks as polished metal in areas that are canvas covered:

standard Alpha Channel:

my Alpha Channel, where the slaigthly glossier black paint, has longerons & ribs showing the plane structure under the canvas covering:

Now we’re cooking, the reason I asked is that my screenshots never look as good as I see posted here. I have some add on scenery but I never achieve the level of detail and crispness that you guys get.

Thanks again

Me?...... ....

I spend far too much time every day, exploring the gorgeous scenery displaying below me in great detail, to remember to press the "Screen Shot" button!... :o .....

.....It interrupts my train of thought and sense of enjoyment....and too much fiddling about to get it all sorted out.... ;) ...!

I do agree about including the details of the screen shots in the post though...its nice to know what stuff is...and where the stuff is... :D ...!

From various Forums, I sometimes think there are two distinct types of "Flight Simmers"....

"Flyers", and "Screen Shotters".... ....!

And just where are your pictures? Aside from a great looking dog, I must have missed them.

The biggest difference that I see in other peoples screenshots is based on two differences: Sim - FS9 vs FSX, and computer power.

FSX is more visually capable, but I've seen many FS9 screenshots that I like.

Then too, there are some people that are more artistically inclined. So it doesn't matter all that much what they're using.

While FSX may be more visually capable, it's also more demanding.

But you might be surprised. You don't need a real high end computer & graphics card to get good detail.

It always make me laugh when someone list super high components in their computer, and then asks "Is this good enough to run FSX?".

If FSX is all that you "play", then a lot of high end hardware NEVER gets used.

Fast CPU? Yes, 3 to 3.5Mhz

Fast memory? Yes.

Fast video card? Somewhat. Multiple GeForce GTX 980 Ti cards in SLI is a waste for the average user with FSX. Surround screen projection with multiple monitors for instruments? Maybe.

Fast SSD drive? I'm a strong proponent of SSD's, and even an "average" SSD will beat out most hard drives. But mostly it just speeds up load times.

I consider my computer a low end gamer computer. I don't get supper high FPS, but with almost all the sliders turned up I get, what to me is very acceptable (and smooth) 25-30FPS.

Chasing higher FPS and reducing scenery detail? No thanks.

I don't profess to being a screenshot up-loader, I do try and fall way behind what I see here I have a pretty reasonable system but..........
...........Well here's one I did tonight Aerosoft Beaver over Keflavík using the free Iceland demo from ORBX. Not very artistic and the detail level is not great.

Screen res is 1920X1080 Setting are up to max. Am I missing something.

P.S.
That's Pippin the super mad collie
