Lockheed Lodestar Fixes

Postby Milton » Sat Sep 05, 2015 4:48 pm

Hello Fellow Simmers :-)

I uploaded a fix for the radio tuning frequency change issue available now in the library.

I found another issue this morning regarding scrape points around the tail wheel causing sparks when landing.

In the aircraft.cfg Contact point section, please replace point 7 with this line:

point.7 = 2, -33.5, 0, -0.0, 800, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 9

The issue was that the point was too low. This should work for you.

My apologies for the inconvenience.

Well you could have fooled me! I saw nothing of the sort from the cockpit. No crew or passenger notified me and airport personnel were silent as a Texas oyster.

BUT ..... even with apparent "sparks", I have to say this is one fabulous aircraft. Real fun to fly with great flight performance and characteristics.

Great job. Looking forward to more if you should so decide.

Well, thank you Sir.

Of course the Harpoon is in the family, and in the library, and the Vega Ventura will be out in 30 days or so.

The Grumman Mallard is in final stages of production along with the Grumman F7F series (-1,-3,-3N, Fire tanker).

They will be uploaded here at Simviation of course. :-)

I posted an upgrade to the Lodestar series that is optional but significantly enhances some model features, adds a 2D electrical panel, and significantly improves the flight model. Although it is optional, I highly recommend it. The upgrade includes previous fixes. This is NOT a full package upgrade; just the improvements.

You can get it the FS9 or FSX upgrade version here: http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=milton+shupe&x=0&y=0

Thanks Milton and thanks for everything you have done over the years, very much appreciated!
My fav all time prop payware or freeware is the Aero Commander 500, brilliant! I even made a NHL livery for it as I'm a hockey nut.

Well, thank you Sir. It has been my pleasure to share freeware with the community since 2002. The Aero Commander series are a bit long in the tooth now but certainly that was a great series of packages. We have had lots of hours of pleasurable flying in that classic series.

There have been some updates over the years but I do not recall if they were uploaded here.

Most of my creations can now be found here http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=milton+shupe&x=0&y=0 and at: http://www.gjsmith.net/Milton_Shupe/

However creations over the last 2 years can be found at Simviation, Flightsim and Sim-outhouse as that website was used to capture products produced at the time I discontinued my website.

Let me add to the praise from an unexpected direction.

I've been flying the Aero Commanders in FSX & then Prepar3d V2.x for quite a while. The 520 has long been a favorite of mine.

The same for the Spartan Executive. The quality inside is certainly high end.

I've just downloaded the Rockwell Shrike. Although the cabin isn't as nice as the 520, the 3D instrument panel is great. There's also something special about how well the Rockwell Shrike flies.

All in all a pleasure, thank you.
