Wanted....

Postby Flying Trucker » Sun Aug 02, 2015 7:58 am

Good morning all... <<u

Up dating my DeHavilland of Canada DHC-2 Beaver and DHC-3 Otter Instrument Panels.

What I would like to install is:

-Dual ADF Instrument
-Radio Stack showing two (2) ADF Frequencies and with Auto Pilot/DME/VORs (2)... etc...

-Have installed Horizontal Situation Indicator and works great with Auto Pilot in the Radial Engine Otter...

Have searched all my simulated aircraft to find a panel and can't seem to find one that is more modern than the Douglas DC3s with Dual ADFs/VORs...

Any help would be most appreciated... ;)
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

I have stated this many times if you want to adjust customize or design your own panels than the program you need is called FSPANELSTUDIO.
This is a vey powerfull tool and the best part about it is you do not need a PHD to use it. It allows you to see the actual panel you would se while flying in any version of FS.
It allows you to stretch gauges and place them where you want them. The only thing it will not do is change a virtual cockpit.
You can create a brand new panel complete with custom gauges all with this program.

Hi Gary... :D

Just got FSPANELSTUDIO...that is how I added the HSI and now looking for a panel to use in FSPanelstudio from another freeware aircraft that has the Dual ADF, VORs, DME etc...that I can use...

Found Payware Panels that have the Dual ADFS/VORS etc. but trying to stay away from those add on panels until I can get a motion simulator built... ;)

Okay Than why do you not just add the other gauges to the panel. As long as you have the gauge in any aircraft in your fleet you can put it in another aircraft. I added a second ADF and a second VOR to a plane that did not have them originally. That is one of the features of FSpanelstudio.
You do not need a aircraft that has the dual ADF'S VORS, and DME. Unless none of the aircraft in your fleet have any of those gauges and I find that hard to believe because they are in most of the default aircraft. All you have to do is to select the add a gauge option and than look down the list of gauges to find what you need some of these gauges are in what is called a CAB file such as B737.cab just click on that gauge and you will see all of the gauges that are in that cab file, This is where you will find the VORS DME and ADF gauges. Once you find the gauge you want you just select it than place it where you want it at and that is it.
FSPANELSTUDIO is a powerful tool it just takes a while to learn how to use it to its full potential

Thanks again Gary...I was trying to replace a whole Radio Stack that had:
...Dual ADF settings
...Dual VORs
...Dual DMEs
...Auto Pilot
...Coms and Transponder

Then replace the single ADF gauge with a dual ADF gauge.

Had no problem with replacing the HSI with FSPANELSTUDIO so will continue on... ;)

Okay now I understand what you trying to do. You could make one yourself but it would take some doing. That is something I have yet to do is to design my own bitmap but it is possible with the program. I am not sure if I am up to that.
Let me know what you finally do.

Doug,

Congratulations on getting FSPanel Studio! I hate to say it, but excessive use of FSPS will lead to very late nights in front of the Computer, looking through Panel listings in the various FS File Libraries, trying to find that PERFECT Gauge that will make your Panel absolutely perfect!

I am lucky in that all my favourite Panels are of the 2D variety, which make my FS Panel Studio very easy to use.
It mostly wont work with Virtual Cockpits (3D).

I like to have all my instruments displayed in front of me, without having to scroll around!

Paul....When I turn around in 2D...I disappear!... ...!

You can have the very best of both worlds, Paul.

A 3D panel give you the feel of being in the real cockpit.

An extra monitor, or two, will give you the certainty that the instrument that you want to look at is right where it's supposed to be.

A better analogy would be to compare it to a car - you can enjoy scenery wherever you look, but the instruments will always be right there, AND out of the way.

Well, in your case make that a motorcycle. :D
