The east cost of Sardinia

Postby OldAirmail » Sun Jul 05, 2015 11:22 am

Down the east cost of Sardinia in a Auster J1 Autocrat.

Sardinia is a large Italian island best known for packing very little fish into a small flat can.

This takes girls with very small hands and fingers, not to mention a great deal of dexterity.

But we're flying and not eating, so here's the pictures that everyone has been waiting in line for.

Awesome set...colours, water, sky and aircraft all blend well together... ;)

I have the same simulated aircraft in my simulated hangar...must clean the simulated dust off the old bird and do a simulated flight somewhere... <<q

Thanks, Doug.

Glad you liked it. I sure enjoyed the pre-dawn flight with the sun just peeking over the horizon.

It was like a dawn on mars, beautiful. Much better than the pictures that I posted.

These pictures were taken after the sun had come up a little. If I had take the pictures when it looked it's best, the pictures would have looked too dark.

You might want to try pre-dawn flight off the eastern cost of Sardinia. It'll be a nice break from those northern lakes & woods.

And like I said, the flight before those pictures looked MUCH better

On this type of flight I turned my room lights down so I'll see more detail.

BTW - I hoped you enjoyed the cockpit view that you always ask for.

Thanks, Anthin.

About the young ladies and the sardines.

It seems that some old foreign gent with a British accent scared them off.

I don't know if they couldn't understand him, or that they understood him all to well. :o

It would be best for now if you just bought the sardines locally.

Thanks, jankees.

The Auster J1 seemed like the best pick for Sardinia.

Whoever designed that sim model did a great job. I don't know if it's close to the real aircraft or not, but it flies as natural as could be.

No fighting for balance. It just glided up into the air.

Don't let any of the Americans read this, but I like it much better than the iconic Cub.

The only negative is that the windows seem tinted.
