I wasn't decided where to go next.

I met a Swiss Gentleman at a dinghy racing event the other day, we chatted about were we sailed and compared the various merits of our home waters. For technical difficulty and a true tidal experience we agreed that the Sussex coast was second to non but for beautiful locations he had me well and truly beat. He was from Lugano which happens to be very close to the Italian border and also close to the Italian Lakes that drain down from the Alpine Dolomites and spread out onto the Northern Italian Plains. What a Lucky bugger.

So I decided to take a look in my trusty DC-3. First Stop for fuel was at Lugano LSZA

While in the area of the Italian lakes I thought I'd charter a plane with floats and do some sightseeing. I was fortunate in finding a Beaver :-)

About 50 miles N.E. of Lugano in Switzerland we find Lake Sil, a rather beautiful spot with some nearby picture postcard villages. The only claim to fame that this palace has is that it was the occasional summer home to Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. He had a house there that has now been turned into a museum memorial in his honour.

What can I say about Nietzsche?
Possibly one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century
Widely misunderstood and misinterpreted
His philosophy of the Übermensch (Superman) was corrupted by Hitler and provided the inspiration for his Aryan Ideal.
The Übermensch also being (arguably, but I think rightly) the inspiration for the DC comics Superman. Individualism Personified.

Whatever we say about him he certainly had an eye for Beauty.

Here I am coming into land at Lake Sil.
