no ships

I recently downloaded 63 a1 ships from simviation, i did exactly as it said in the read me, it then showed "building new scenery files" but the ships are not showing up. does anybody know why

Check the settings, traffic. Maybe the slider is on zero. Put it to 60 to 100 for ships.

Are the AI ships in the simobjects\boats directory?

Is this directory set in FSX.cfg as object directory? Should be, if you didn't change it.

Are the traffic.bgl in scenery\world\scenery\ directory?

Ship traffic may be hard to find, since the ocean is very big compared to the ships. Change time and see if they appear. Maybe you get some info when a ship leaves a harbor and can watch there.

flyskyhy, I'm sorry for this, but I really can't help myself.


The reason that there are no ships, or fish for that matter, is that the guys in the UK have eaten them. One and all.



I don't know if "scenery files" is where they belong, but I'll gladly believe you.

If so, then I'd check that the files have been placed in a folder called Sceney.

If scenery isn't placed in that folder then FSX can't "see" it.

The most likely reason for not having the ships showing up is that you have FS9 type traffic bgl's installed e.g. WOAI or MAIW - these have to be converted with AIFP to FSX format - else no ships will show up.
Please let me know if it solves your problem.
