help, this is driving me nuts

Postby Cusance » Sat Jun 27, 2015 12:30 pm

Hi all,
The following problem has been driving me nuts (doesnt take much actually  ) and i dont know what to do about it. searched the internet, cant find anything.
Although i am not aware that I have changed anything or frigged with any files, suddenly the bagage trolley is parked on the apron instead of next to the
bagage tractor. The tractor seems to be in the right position. I have uploaded two images which show the problem clearly. Now, it would seem that obviously there is a file somewhere which contains
default coordinates for this bagage trolley which all airports use, but I cant find it. something has happened to that file. If I knew where it was and what the default coordinates should be I can correct it.
So do any of you folks know about this or tell where I can find this file or how I can correct it?
I will be most grateful.

All of the AI traffic files are in the SIM OBJECT folder Than another folder I think it is called Vehicles but not sure. I am at work so I can not check
But one has to remember that AI flight plans can effect ground vehicles so it is likely that a flight plan could cause this. But it also could be a file in the vehicle folder.

It appears that the baggage carts are positioned for the rear baggage compartments of some inbound aircraft; I think they are now designed to fit under the wings of most medium to large commercial airplanes. Which would lead me to think, as mentioned, that this may have to do with AI traffic..

Interesting. I will have a look if I can trace the file. But if anyone does know the file name then I would be very grateful for a default copy.
The problem appears at all airports, whether I have filed a flightplan or not. So free flight is the same as flying on a flightplan. I have noticed that the bagage trolley is also slightly off the ground.
The only thing I have installed is REX Essential plus Overdrive Environment. No other addons, apart from scenery for netherlands but it happens even when I remove this.

Thanks for this thought. Someone else also suggested AI flightplans. All I have added is REX Essential plus Overdrive Environment. I tend not to use a lot of add ons.
I remain very grateful for any ideas anyone might have.

Now this may sound crazy and might not be the problem. But have you checked the order in which your scenery is displayed? This is in the Scenery cfg file.
The one thing I have noticed about FSX and FS9 is when you add any new scenery FS will put that scenery as the first entry therefore creating that scenery first.
Now this can be a problem in certain situations. Which is why you might go to a airport and find a plane or a ground vehicle in the middle of a hanger
This is because of the order of scenery. My biggest reason to keep collision turned off, as you can go to a airport and find your self in the middle of a hanger and than the sim crashes because of this. What I do is after I Have added any new scenery I will put it at the end of the list causing this scenery to be displayed last.
But like I said this might not be your problem but the fact that you state you see the baggage cart off the ground in some places makes me think it might be because of the scenery order.
Since I have never looked as to how the ground vehicles are created this could also be cause by a contact problem. But I doubt it since you do not see it off the ground every where you go.
One has to remember to think like a artiest painting a picture you have to paint things in a certain order to create the effect you want.
FS works the same way it goes down the scenery cfg file painting pictures so if you get 1 out of order strange things will happen.
I usually create the default scenery first than make changes to that. So make sure that your REX scenery is being created last not first.
Trust me it can make a difference.

When it comes to FSX NOTHING sounds crazy to me !!
thanks for this info. As the problem started when I introduced REX, I guess it will be worthwhile to uninstall it and go back completely to default.
guess I should have done that by now  IF the problem goes, (as I said it does appear on all airports including default although ofcourse REX introduced new runway textures etc,)
I then know where the problem lies and can then follow your thoughts on this and see if the order has changed anything. Thanks for coming back to me on this.
