Hi Gary,
It's not that I think it's not supported - it's a fact that it is not supported in the full size cockpits such as those using fsx or prepare3d
which use Ifly and poss PMDG sims.
In the end I couldn't find the cfg file here, seems to have gone, I found it off one of my older haunts.
I'm currently training in full size cockpit to be able to go 'solo' , it's used by the airlines for training during the week, I tend to get in just after they
finish, last flight was startup from cold and dark, flight planning, taxi, take off, navigate to another airport, touch and go, into holding pattern, re-plan approach in flight to another runway at same airport, land and stop on runway.
My laptop is the backup training.
Gets interesting and if there is a facilty near you, go and try it, good fun especially if like me, many moons ago I had applied to co pilot training and always wondered if I could have done it.
One problem with win8 is mainly with the UAC, it cannot be turned off by mr average user as it can in win 7 via the control panel, win8 still leaves UAC active even when set at it's min setting, it prevents the use of dll files and the auto editing of xml files, only way to disable it completely is to modify the registry, win 8 has this workaround but right now it's arkward.
Our training aids at work in resus are win 8 based and not as friendly but that's what's being rolled out and we have to accept it.
Anyway I digress, my problem solved.
regards
Steve
